Filipino Lumpia

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
Our family loves lumpia, this recipe is similar to the one that I use. I have a question for anyone that might be able to answer it. Our local Oriental market closed and I can't get the wrappers anywhere, does anyone know of an online store that ships these wrappers ? Thanks

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
One more review......I just had to get on the list. My family loved this recipe. I have been preparing Tilapia for a few years now,it's a mild fish that all 5 of my kids will eat. This recipe made it even easier. Fast and fabulous. Thanks.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
This was fantastic. I made it exactly like the recipe called for.The second time I used pumpkin pie spice instead of the nutmeg and kept everything else the same. It was even better. I made two large loaves and it took a little over an hour to complete baking.

Banana Cream Pie II

Reviewed: May 16, 2006
A whole lot of fluff . This pie presents itself well, however I waisted alot of filling and that was dissapointing. I could have made two 10 inch pies from this recipe if not more. My father-in-law loved it, my husband thought it lacked flavor. He said it tasted like a whipped cream pie. Next time, I would probably do as one of the others said and reduce the cream to half and maybe add vanilla or more pudding to enhance the flavor. I give it 4 stars because it does make a beautiful pie.

Baked Beans III

Reviewed: May 14, 2006
Wow! Who knew ? I looked at the recipe and thought... I put brown sugar in beans all the time,I then read that you cook the bacon with the brown sugar. This was the secret to this bean recipe.I did drain off the grease before I mixed with the beans and I too added one sweet onion and a tsp. dry mustard. This is better than the old family secret recipe, but it is very sweet. Thanks !

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
Fantastic ! I always marinate my raw shrimp in 2 TBS sugar and 2 TBS kosher salt and then refrigerate for two hours. Rinse the shrimp in cold water and then I used this recipe. I did cut my salt in half and it was perfect !!! I didn't think it was too spicy at all, my family loved it. By the way, marinating the shrimp in salt and sugar makes the shrimp tender and adds flavor. This is a great recipe.

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2006
Good, but I will deffinately make my own enchilada sauce next time. The canned just doesn't compare. Everything else about it was good. I didn't use the taco seasoning packet, I seasoned it myself and I also used a whole broiler chicken shredded.

Seafood Lasagna II

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2006
This was good, and I would have to agree with some of the others, It was better the next day. I just used shrimp and crab in mine, but be choosey about your alfredo sauce, that can make it or break it.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

My husband and I loved this. I made it a little too spicy for my kids, I'll have to tone it down for them next time. We loved it.

Best Ever Meatloaf with Brown Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2006
Not the best meatloaf for our family. Maybe it depends on the type of chili sauce you use.It didn't go over well with my family of 7 and they aren't picky eaters. Sorry, I'll have to give this one a 2 .

This was good and easy. We added salsa, I think it needed a little kick, but we are a spicy family.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2005
This one took me for surprise ! I love it ! I used real butter and boxed cream cheese, I also used 3 TBS brown sugar. I did whip mine a long time in the mix master and placed in a bowl in the fridge over night. It was very soft, but after a day in the fridge, it formed into a perfect ball. I scooped it out onto waxed paper and rolled in Toffee bits. It really tasted like cookie dough once chilled. For those having trouble with forming a ball, you might want to chill it in a metal bowl, and be sure to use room temperature (real) butter and (regular)cream cheese. I don't know if the whipping had anything to do with it, but my cheese ball did form well. Good luck :) Thanks for a great new recipe.
