Amish White Bread

The best white bread recipe I have tried! I follow the recipe exactly, though it can also be modified to make cinnamon raisin bread or whatever by rolling it flat and spreading it with something and rolling it up. I will be making this regularly!

Cinnamon Brownies

SUPER brownies! I made them to take to a UFC party tonight and they were a hit, vanished quickly - and everyone asked if I would make another batch for a Superbowl party tomorrow! I used a shot of espresso for the strong coffee, and I used chocolate chips instead of walnuts, since I had none. These are so much better than an average brownie - the combination of chocolate, coffee and cinnamon really makes these extraordinary!

Vicki's Hush Puppies

I did need to add about 1/4 C milk - it was WAY too dry the way it is written (did anyone successfully make it without any added liquid?). I also had no self rising corn flour or flour, so I added 1t of baking soda. I also used a shake of salt, and some pepper. With those changes made - this recipe was great! Next time I am planning on sneaking a cube of pepper jack cheese inside each one.

Pumpkin Bread IV

I first made this recipe following it to the letter - it was WAY too sweet. The next time, I cut the sugar (making 36 muffins - I used 3 cups of sugar instead of 4) - still too sweet IMO. Next time I am going to just cut it in half. I also added 1t of ginger.

Aunt Blanche's Blueberry Muffins

I made these according to the recipe, but cut the sugar down to 1 cup, and added 1t of vanilla. They were amazing! The batter ended up thicker than most muffin batter, but they cooked up great! I think next time I will cut the sugar down a bit more (they were still very sweet), and try substituting apple sauce for half the butter, like someone else suggested. And possibly use some whole wheat flour for part of the flour. It was a GREAT recipe though - would just like to make it a bit healthier, and less sweet.

Gluten-Free Yellow Cake

I made this (as cupcakes) for my husband (who is a celiac) for his birthday. I was OVERJOYED to find a good GF recipe that you actually can't even tell that it is GF!!!! And it was no harder than making any other cake from scratch. I have been cooking GF for awhile now, and normally things tend to have a grainier texture - this was awesome, and no one could ever guess that it was not "regular" I will be using only this recipe from now on for all our birthdays. I used the chocolate frosting recipe on the back of the Hershey's cocoa box to frost them, and it went great.

Foolproof Chocolate Fudge

I made a batch, split it in 1/2, swirled peanut butter in 1/2, after spreading it on wax paper, then mixed in some creme de menthe coffee syrup in the other 1/2. Both additions turned out great! I will be using this recipe again regularily, very very very easy, so much simpler than the ones with so many more ingredients.

Easy Granola Bars

This recipe is GREAT, I will be using it regularly. I used coconut, craisins, and chocolate chips, they are much better than any store bought variety! I let them cook for only 20 minutes, so they would still be chewy. Could not believe how sweet they turned out to be (though not too sweet), with no sweeteners other than the sweetened condensed milk.

Granola Cereal Bars

did not like them. my kids would not even eat them. i followedthe recipe exactly, and they were crumbly and had a very unappealing texture. I made the Easy Granola Bar recipe at the same time (wanted to compare 2 recipes, see which one was best), and they turned out great. Make them instead.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

I made this recipe following it exactly, except I substituted corn flour (masa) for the white flour, to make it gluten free! and I baked the whole thing in a 9x13 pan. It turned out great, I actually think the corn flour added more flavor! I did not even frost it, but I did sprinkle some white chocolate chips on top. I will definatly be making this recipe again
