Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 14, 2007
I love this recipe, it's so easy yet gives such tasty results! It is unlike any other meatloaf and I believe it's because of the ketchup/brown sugar layer at the bottom. Most meatloafs have just plain ketchup on top but this recipe kicks it up a notch by allowing it to sweeten and cook into the meat at the bottom. It's so good and a family favorite now! I wouldn't change a thing!

Tater Tot Casserole III

Reviewed: May 1, 2007
I have to give this 3 stars because there really is something missing from it. I grew up eating tator tot casserole and this just isn't the same. I'm not sure what is missing but I'm going to find out and find another recipe. This is good but not to my tastes really.

Chicken and Pasta Casserole with Mixed Vegetables

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2007
I really liked this recipe and will be making it again. I used 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup because it was all I had and it turned out very good. I was in a huge rush when I chose this recipe however (a hungry 2 year old yanking at my leg) so I didn't read the reviews till after. Next time the change I'll be making is adding some milk because it was a tad dry. Not terrible but it did seem to need a bit of milk. I used some alphabet shaped whole wheat pasta to make it kid friendly and my 2 year old gobbled it right up happily! Definitely recommend this recipe, it was quick and easy and uses basic staple foods.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2007
This was such an easy and tasty recipe! I found it while looking for a quick dinner and am so glad I tried it. The chicken was so tender and well done. I mixed italian dry salad dressing mix in with the bread crumbs because I only had plain bread crumbs. It smelled SOOO good while it was cooking, and tasted just as good. I'd fully recommend it, and I'll definitely be making it again.

Country Style Barbecued Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
4 stars because it was tasty but not perfect. My husband loved this dish and I made it with spanish rice from this site and it was a great and easy meal. The sauce was a bit sweet but it was overall quite good.

Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
Classic! My mom used to make these when I was little and I wanted to find the recipe but didn't know how and I came across this and it's exactly the same! I love it! They turned out great, my mom used to make them on the stove with a pan of oil but I used my deep fryer and they were perfect. We make them with both cinnamon and sugar and also some with powdered sugar, very tasty!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
These were very yummy! I had a craving for some chocolate and didn't have anything at hand except ingredients to make brownies and I chose this recipe. I am so glad I did, these were so good! Definitely recommend them! And they were easy and fast to make also!

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
These were pretty tasty but it seemed like the worcestershire sauce brought too much flavor. Of course I ended up only getting 1 cup of seeds from my pumpkin so maybe with more seeds it wouldn't have been such a strong flavor. I will be trying this again but adjusting it a bit because of how strong the taste was. Overall quite good though! Still worth 4 stars, even done probably incorrectly! Oh and I also did cook them at 300 degrees and also did add some cayenne pepper.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
This gets 4 stars because it was tasty and quick but just wasn't as moist and soft as I'd have liked. It's a great recipe though for when you are short on time and ingredients. I will make it again but will probably change the recipe around some to add more flavor also.

Chocolate Cookie Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
This is the first baked cheesecake I've made and it's so amazing! I made it exactly as the recipe said and am so pleased with it! I haven't had a cheesecake this good in a long long time. It's rich, creamy, sweet, decadent, tastes like it cost $20 or more at the store. I love how it has layers and I wouldn't change anything about it. It did take quite awhile to make but was so worth it. And it makes a huge cake also, I used a 10 inch springform pan and it went right up to the top of it!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2006
I loved this! It is a basic banana bread but doesn't skimp on flavor at all. It's simple and quick to make and will now become a regular thing for me because I just loved it. Served warm with butter it was just wonderful. And it seems like an easy recipe to alter if you like walnuts in your bread, you could probably just add it in easily. Very good!

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2006
I have to give this 3 stars unfortunately because it just wasn't up to my expectations. The beans weren't soft enough even after 2 hours of soaking and an additional 20 minutes of cooking time. I didn't add the ham hock because I didn't have one but instead added some cooked and cut up bacon pieces. I think the broth was good but needed a ton more seasoning. I would have preferred the soup to be a bit thicker consistency also, it just seemed really runny. I will probably make again but with some changes.

Honey Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2006
I give this 4 stars because it was good but not as light and creamy as I would have liked. Maybe I didn't let the butter soften for long enough but the honey just wouldn't fully mix in for some reason. Other than that though it really was good and very tasty on corn bread. I will be making it again but will try and get it to be creamier.

Bob's Awesome Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2006
This was definitely awesome! I made this for dinner for my husband, myself and our 16 month old daughter. A friend also happened to stop by and she also joined us. My husband said it was excellent and that I have to make it again. The friend loved it also, her mother just passed away and she said it was just like the one her mother always made. My daughter didn't leave one scrap on her plate at all. This is such a great lasagna! Hearty and good homecooked taste! I will be making this again, definitely. The only thing I did differently was that I used ground turkey instead of beef because I am trying to cut back on our food budget and turkey is cheaper. I also have to say I used a bit more cheese and also a bit more cottage cheese and it filled in the little side areas of the dish even better and was good and filling! An easy 5 stars!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
I thought it was pretty tasty but I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I didn't use the exact cut of steak listed and also didn't have any smoke flavoring. I also only marinated them for about 2 hours. Next time I will follow the recipe exactly because it was overall tasty but I think it needs to be followed more closely.

Summerly Squash

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
I didn't have yellow summer squash so I didn't use it. I made the tomato pieces a bit bigger and just added more. I also don't like onion chunks so used onion powder instead. I did like this for the most part but felt it could have used more seasoning. My husband didn't seem to like it but he isn't a big vegetable fan. Overall I'd say I'd make it again if I could find a way to season it more.

Bella's Rosemary Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
I guess I didn't follow this exactly as it says but did do for the most part. What I did different was that I realized I didn't have rosemary and so I used a Mrs. Dash type seasoning and just sprinkled that all over it. It came out so good though I can't imagine that it really needed too much more. We loved them even made a bit differently. Very tasty!

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
This was good and hearty but I prefer my macaroni and cheese to have more seasoning. I liked it overall and my 16 month old loved it! But I had to salt mine quite a bit to be pleased with it. Sure it does take a bit of effort and time to make this but even with it needing a bit more salt it is still worthwhile to make. I will be making it again since my toddler loved it so much. It makes so much I had leftovers enough to fill more than 2 meals for 2 adults and a toddler. It does have a good homemade hearty taste, much better than boxed stuff.

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2006
This is sooooo good! This is the first peach cobbler I've ever made and I was a bit worried at first about if it would be difficult but this was so simple to follow and is delicious! The thing I did different was that I used canned peaches (29 oz. can) and instead of water I used the juice from the can and ended up using about half the amount required by the recipe. It came out so good both me and my husband ate it and had seconds. I served it warm with vanilla ice cream on top. I would definitely recommend this cobbler! Whether you are a new cook or a veteran cook this cobbler will just blow your mind!

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2006
I give this 4 stars because it did need some changes to it. I followed the advice of some of the others and added 1 cup milk, 1 additional can of tuna, and also a can of cream of mushroom soup. I also added 1/2 can of diced tomatoes. I seasoned it also with garlic powder and onion powder. It was very tasty though and seems an easy recipe to change to your liking. My 16 month old daughter ate quite a bit of her's so I am quite pleased with this!
