Pumpkin Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2005
WOW. I made this last night for our Thanksgiving party and it came out amazing. The muffins are so fluffly and delicious. I doubled the recipe and made some cakes also (they took a lot longer to bake and I recommed sticking to the muffins). Everyone who tried them LOVED them. I highly recommend this recipe.

Chinese Cabbage Salad I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
AWESOME salad. Served it today and it was the first salad I have served in a while with NO leftovers! The dressing is phenomenal. I used chow mein noodles instead of ramen as it is hard to find here in Israel.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2005
Everyone loved it. A real crowd pleaser. Only problem was that like the recipe says, you have to serve it immediately or the broccoli gets mushy (however it still tastes great). I would not put the cashews in until right before serving and maybe toast them first also. I would also use more crushed garlic and maybe a bit more soy sauce next time.

Banana Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
My husband loves healthy items and this one is A BIG HIT in our house. I have made it now 5 times already! Thanks so much for sharing this great recipe. I have only changed one thing and that is what kind of nuts to add in, this time I did one loaf with almonds and one with walnuts. Otherwise it's perfect as is!

Apple Banana Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Easy, stood up to my substitutions, kid-friendly taste. I subbed in 1/4c 2% milk with squeeze of lemon juice for buttermilk and vegetable oil for shortening. I made a pan of mini-cupcakes and 18 regular sized. They're fluffy and delicious and took barely any time to prep and bake. Will make again.

Cherry Chip Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
I made it with white chocolate chips instead and it made it look prettier and more pink colored. I took it to an engagement party and they loved it. It could have baked a bit longer than 1 hour - it is thick. Pros - easy to make and with white chips, pretty in color. Cons - did come out a bit uneven and it is not that sweet if that is what you are looking for.

Italian Restaurant-Style Dressing

Reviewed: May 21, 2006
Did not have pectin or cheese but made it anyway and it was great. I had to use dark corn syrup as that was all I had and I was nervous but it totally worked. Weird! I am making it to use on pasta salad and it tastes great on the broccoli already without even being refrigerated yet! I'll make it again for sure.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2006
I made this with bone-in chicken quarters (thighs and legs). I added the worch sauce as previous commenters suggested (in = ration to soy sauce). There is no way you can avoid smoking up your house. The result however was worth it. I only took one star away because of the smokefest. I opened some windows and we gobbled it down! Yum.

Pecan Pie Bars I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
They tasted good but did not firm up the way other Pecan Pie bars have that I have made in the past. They were way too soft even after I tried overcooking them and freezing them to firm them up. I ended up having to throw half away sadly because they were just not done well. I have other recipes I like much better for this dessert.

Neapolitan Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
this is the biggest failure of a recipe i have gotten off of this site. i even came up with a creative way to make the pink layer since i live in israel and there is no strawberry flavoring (way too exotic for here). i used strawberry jam and food coloring and it was great. i hand-spooned the layers on but they still totally mixed together and did not form even close to real layers. the whole purpose of this cake is appearance and this one was awful. also, mine did not stay together and i could not even get it out of the pan in one piece! i say DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. the one good thing i can say is that it tastes good in crumbly bits (i am pregnant and will eat anything though).
