Pork and Green Chile Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2006
This was an excellent recipe! I pretty much followed the recipe to a T but used Chicken instead of Pork and left out the 1/4 c. water, used Italian Diced Tomatoes and only 1 T. Cumin since others said it was too strong but I didn't even taste it - this makes a TON so we will be eating it as leftovers tonight and probably tomorrow, that is how much is left. We used Tortillas and ate it as a wrap. SO GOOD! Thanks!!!

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2007
This is one spicy chili! I only used one can of kidney beans - 2 cans would have been overload, also used the other suggestions and used one can tomato soup and one can diced tomatoes with green chiles...added 1/2 can of water so I had no complaints on it being too thick. Also added a few sprinkles of hot sauce - not sure if that is what made it extra spicy or just the fact I added a little more than the 2 Tbsp of Chili powder. Omitted allspice and you would never know. I would have to say this is a keeper but would definitely NOT give it to my 2 1/2 year old, much to spicy! Perfect with bread, a little cheese and sour cream!

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
This was great bread! The only thing I changed was the amount of butter I used -3/4 cup is way too much - so I cut it down to 1/4 cup and used about 5 or 6 cloves of garlic - otherwise its great, easy bread to make!

Spanish Rice II

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2007
what are all the complaints about with it being too spicy??? It wasn't at all and actually needed more. I added cumin to mine, fresh garlic, and used instant brown rice with only 1 1/4 cup of water...it was ok but I don't know if i will make this again.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
Sooo Yummy!! Not at all too sweet and so very very moist...I halved the recipe and used light butter and light sour cream - ended up with 4 mini loaves which is perfect for us and you'd never know I used the less fat version of some ingredients. Thanks for the recipe, a definite keeper!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2007
Amazing! I was so proud of myself when I took this out of the oven - it came out perfectly and looked as though I had bought it directly from the store! I must agree it was very heavy bread but nonetheless - delicious! I wouldn't change/alter a thing with this. Wonderful! Thanks for the recipe!

Broccoli with Rigatoni

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2007
Very good easy recipe - I only used 2 Tbs of Olive Oil and 1 Tbsp of Light Butter because the other amount just seemed excessive to me and I didn't want to make the meal that fattening. I added 5 cloves of garlic, about a 1/4 cup of onion, and used 1 1/2 cups of chicken broth (i can't find vegetable broth anywhere)i thought it came out very well and so did my husband - ate this with the Amish white bread from this site and the meal was complete!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
did I miss something? I really expected to have these AWESOME rolls after reading all the reviews...they were ok, but I definitely wouldn't rave about them like all the others....to me, they were dry - I'm attempting to do the icing this morning in hopes that that will make them better! the dough turned out fabulous in my bread machine - jsut wish the filling was more "gooey"

Macaroni And Cheese II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
This was ok - nothing to write home about. I used 98% fat free broccoli and cheese soup and also added in Sharp Cheddar cheese as well as 2 slices of Provolone (needed to get rid of it) it still didn't seem to have a very Cheesy taste. I am glad I tried it but won't make it again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
I have finally found the perfect cookie recipe! I have been on a mission for a long time to make nice, soft, fluffy cookies that weren't flat as pancakes and I finally did it! We loved them. All my other cookie recipes will go in the garbage because nothing compares to these. EXCELLENT! Thanks so much for sharing.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
WOW! I love making things from scratch and this is by far the greatest! I made this yesterday for Valentine's Day - my husband couldn't stop talking about it! I normally only eat a little of things I bake, but this time, I took a rather big piece and loved every minute of it...so moist and chocolatey!! I did half the recipe for the cake and the frosting and made it in 2 9 in. pans rather than 3 and it didn't make a difference still really really good....I am definitely keeping this recipe and making it again.

Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
I gave this 5 stars because I really didn't have anything to compare it to - but we really enjoyed it in our house (even my 3 1/2 yr. old) I used 3 cups of chicken broth,1 can cream of chix, 1 can cream of celery and didn't have any problem with it being dry - i overused the celery but that isn't a big deal - and i just seasoned it extra with poultry seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder and didn't find anything bland about it. Also just used a generic biscuit mix package - put some garlic powder and paprika in that and dumped them in (the stew was at a full boil) they turned out good. so overall, i would make this again and found it to be filling and satisfying.

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
I actually liked this way more the next day! Seemed like it was much more flavorful after it had sat a day. I used leftover chicken from the night before so I just cut it up and sprinkled the cumin in - didn't measure it, added black olives and didn't use the coriander because I didn't have any, also just sprinkled in the cilantro and went light on the sour cream - used a generic red enchilada sauce which was fine. The only thing I didn't like was how mushy the tortillas ended up - I'm thinking next time I won't put the sauce on the bottom. With tweaking, this is a good, quick recipe.

Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
what is everyone crowing about? I made this the other day and found it to be very very very dry - i used craisins and raisins and doubled the filling but was not at all pleased. I will stick with a recipe I have had for years that I make by hand without the bread machine.

Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
So Yummy! I changed the recipe just a bit - I roasted a big red pepper and a small one, cut up the garlic and used fresh basil - then i put it in a container for 2 days (not really planned but it happened that way)i got it out, took a can of roasted peppers from a jar and added them in, cooked them in the skillet to warm, added the milk (I used 3/4 cup 1% milk with about a 1/4 cup half and half) I didn't puree, left it chunky and added only 1 Tbsp. of butter -It really was great - the only thing I would change is adding the whole 2 cups of milk/half and half because there just wasn't that much liquid.....otherwise it is awesome and will make it again!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I rated this 4 because my 4 yr. old and my husband really liked them. I however, thought the muffin lacked something. It wasn't very sweet and not much flavor. I even added cinnamon and vanilla to the batter like others but it still didn't seem to be enough. I probably will just stick with my banana bread recipe.

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2008
This was very good! Of course I altered the recipe slightly - I used shake n bake and coated the whole chicken, and used the laughing cow light garlic and herb cheese, one wedge on each breast and rolled them up - drizzled one tablespoon butter over them (i only made 2 breasts since its just my husband, 4 yr old, and myself) and baked for 40 min at 375 - super easy and can be modified with a ton of different things! love it, will be a staple in our house!
