Bratwurst Potato Skillet

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
This was OK, but not anything I will make again, the sauce made my potatoes soggy and just had a weird taste, I used sausage instead of the brats but that didn't make a difference

Gumbo Style Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I don't have anything to compare this to, but we still really liked it. I used chicken and turkey sausage, 2 cups of chix broth and cooked the chicken first in the creole seasoning mix(recommended by another reviewer and found on this site) it was spicy but not overly spicy (my 4 yr old ate it)followed the rest of the recipe as written but instead of the hot sauce just sprinkled a bit more creole mix in. It makes quite a bit but that's good for me so I don't have to cook tonight! Will make this again.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
This was really good - I used a pint of grape tomatoes instead and I overdid the garlic a bit but it was still really yummy and flavorful!

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
I really liked this and even got a comment from my husband that he liked it too, which is a small feat in itself. Recipe is so versatile with what you have on hand which makes it even better. Will definitely be keeping this and making it in the future.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
My first time ever making sugar cookies and these were WONDERFUL!! I just hated rolling them out and using the cookie cutters - that was a pain, but the cookies themselves were worth the effort - so soft and yummy!

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
This was pretty good, the best part about it was that it was MOIST - always what I want from meatloaf. Will probably make again and use just 1/2 onion soup packet

Buttery Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
I have no idea what my problem is but I jsut can't get the dough to be soft and pliable - they were soft inside but tasted "floury" I doubt I will try these again

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2008
This was very good - next time I may only use one can of beans since there seemed to be quite a bit - but it was still good and tasty - even my 4 yr old ate it.

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
This had a great taste and was good but I'm definitely going to keep working on it - my bread didn't seem to rise as well as it should have - but nonetheless, I will keep making it.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
"Best Ever" is a bit of a stretch for this - it isn't bad, my 4 yr old loves it, but I don't particularly care for it - the orange juice really overpowers. Won't make again.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2008
These were ok - I used mostly ketchup but did add about a 1/4 - 1/3 cup of BBQ sauce to make the 3/4 cup, but the BBQ is what I tasted the most. Not out of this world but decent enough.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2008
LOVED this! I used some Asian Stir Fry Veggies in addition - and I tripled the sauce, which wasn't necessary, doubling would have been just fine, but this is a definite keeper and next time I'll try with Chicken. YUM-O! Thank you!

Banana-Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
These were good - my 4 yr old really loves them - we added a lot of craisins to this and skipped the nuts, also reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup and used half applesauce and half oil - will make again but may add back in the full cup of sugar

Chocolate Zucchini Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2008
We really liked this recipe - I used a full bag of Chocolate chips and about 4 oz of a hershey chocolate bar, 1/2 cup applesauce and 1/2 cup oil with 2 Tbsp of cocoa powder - my only complaint was all the chips sank to the bottom - may cut back on the chips next time - but there will definitely be a next time!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
This wasn't bad - but not great enough for 5 stars. I used 1 can cream of chix and 1 can cream of celery, chix broth, and threw in carrots, celery and garlic in addition to the onion. Used generic biscuit mix, and cooked an add'l 2 hours after putting that in - all together, on low, it cooked for 12 hours....used frozen breasts too....maybe will make again if i'm desperate but may keep looking for something to really blow my socks off.
