Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2010
The only thing I did different than the recipe was use plain feta crumbles. I couldn't find the garlic herb crumbles. It was YUMMY!! For those that said it was too much filling...???? I don't understand. Mine fit my deep dish pie plate *perfectly*!! And...I really didn't think it was too oily at all. I did squeeze the spinach dry....not just drain it. I'll definitely keep this recipe! YUM! Maybe the problem people had with it being too much filling is that they didn't use a *deep* dish pie plate? Maybe...the deep dish pie crusts in the disposable pie plate are not as deep as a deep dish pie plate??? I don't know. I don't buy the crusts that are in a disposable pie plate. I use bought crusts with my own pie plate.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
I didn't make this bread in a bread machine, I made it by hand. It is AWESOME. So very good! I was told by everyone to 'keep this recipe'. They want it again and again. I just followed the order of making bread by hand-which means you do it all in a different order. Water, sugar and yeast together-let sit for 10-15 minutes until frothy, add oil and salt, mix for just a min or less-just to incorporate, add flour mix for 5-7 mins, add other seasonings mix for 2-3 mins. (or if you don't have a mixer with a dough hook, knead well for each of those ingredients for that long). Let rise in mixer bowl (or other greased bowl) for one hour, shape into loaves, put into greased loaf pans, let rise about 45 mins-1 hour, bake at 375 for about 30 minutes or until golden brown. If you plan on making it by hand, I suggest you triple it (this will make 3 loaves) to make it worth your while...besides...this bread is SO good...one loaf doesn't last long!!!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
Very good! Easy. Hearty. Yum! I wouldn't say there are 8 servings there, though. I made it for a family of 10. I quadrupled it and have leftovers for probably half of us. It might be 8 servings if it wasn't a main dish? I also would be careful with the pepper, if you make more than one batch at a time. I used half the pepper for our quad batch. It was perfect. I learned the hard way one time that pepper you don't always double/triple when making several batches.

White Bean Chicken Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
AMAZING taste! Yum! I used chicken sausage b/c it is what I had. I also used Tomatillo salsa b/c I couldn't find canned tomatillo. Next time I will use half the tomatillos salsa or stew my own tomatillos (I was able to find fresh tomatillos). Either I used way too much tomatillo salsa or the spices in the chicken sausage made it a 5 alarm chili! WOW. And *I* like spicy!! My 17 year old son that likes spice really liked it!! But, although the flavor was SO very good...I couldn't eat it as leftovers. You really need the extra toppings...ahhh...all of those added are so good! And, if you make it too spicy the sour cream tones that down a bit. My 19 year old son that doesn't like spicy soo much ate it with TONS of sour cream in it :o)

This is the best pancake recipe I've ever tried. I thought, before this recipe, pancakes are pancakes...but, not after trying this recipe. YUM! This will be our recipe forever. I made it exactly like it said and it was great.

Enchilada Stack

We are a family of 10, so pleasing everyone is not always possible. This recipe does just that. It is SO good. I make it in the oven, though, not in the microwave.

Mexican Bean Burgers

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
We didn't like these. We ate them, but we had made LOTS b/c we do with everything and we always have leftovers for lunch. The next day at lunch the kids were acting as if it was the 'punishment of the day' to have to eat these!! We didn't like the consistency and thought they were a little bland. We'll go back to our other bean burgers.

Black Bean Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
I've made this LOTS of times. It is one of my favorites. I make it exactly the way the recipe reads and love it! I never have sauteed the onion and garlic and mine comes out just fine. I promise you if it was the least bit raw my husband wouldn't eat raw onion!! I do, however chop it very fine with a Pampered Chef food chopper, so that might be why. I do understand what one person said about the tortillas being a bit soggy...they are...but, not enough to bother us. Perhaps if you toasted them under the broiler for a minute or two it would help?? This is a great recipe...give it a try.

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

Reviewed: May 8, 2006
This was so very yummy! I thought it would be time consuming, but it really wasn't. It did use a lot of pans, but it was so good I didn't really care! Thanks for a tuna casserole recipe without canned soup!

Jalapeno Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2005
This is a favorite of ours. We have made it many times and it has never failed me!! I know others have said that the 'hot' water was too hot. Well, I just read the directions for yeast somewhere and found that it needs to be between 105-110 degrees. So, try it again you might like this bread yet!

Slow Cooker Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2005
This recipe was well liked by my hungry boys! We will definitely put this on the 'to fix again' list. I did change very little after reading a few of the reviews. I cooked it on low only 5 hours, then put the ramen noodles in for the last hour-but, left it on low for that time. I used the seasonings called for and it was not at all too salty. I would not use garlic salt instead of garlic powder, that would probably make it too salty.
