One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
This cake is absolutely fabulous! A treat for all chocolate lovers! And oh soooo easy! This recipe is very forgiving, it is quite difficult to go wrong with this one if you keep a few tips in mind. First of all, make sure you use LARGE eggs, otherwise you will end up with brownies instead of a luscious cake. Do not cut back on the soda or the baking powder, as they are the key to the cake structure. I also upped the cocoa to one cup and the result was any chocolate lover's fantasy. The cake was very moist, almost creamy yet with the firmness of a cake. I topped it with toblerone ganache and it worked perfectly with the bittersweet taste of the cake. Make sure you line the pan with parchment. The cake is so fudgy that IT WILL stick to the pan.

Homemade Butter

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
Just a hint for all those living around the equator, keep some ice cubes handy while blending during hot summers. Add a couple of ice cubes in intervals and soft butter will surface in no time!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2009
I love it! I love it! I love it! Simply too good! I did follow a few suggestions by other reviewers: sauteed minced garlic and used only 1 1/2 cup of milk! I also added one TBS of mayonnaise. I didnt have parmesan, so i used cheddar instead and it turned out just fine! . I used two tsp of crushed green chillies to add more flavor! This recipe is a keeper! I will try it with fettucine next! Thank you for sharing the secret!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
You can also roll the dough between clear plastic wraps! works just as fine. Also, in order to ensure that the pie crust does not raise from the middle and the sides don't fold in here is a tip: After lining the pie tin with the dough, press in butter paper cut into a round shape and fill the tin with rice or baking beans. Bake in the oven, and then remove the rice/beans and save them for future use! the pie will be perfectly flat at the bottom and the sides will not fold in!

Scottish Shortbread IV

Reviewed: May 2, 2008
Excellent recipe! The dough was a bit crumbly, and was difficult to transfer after the cutouts, but the baked result was too good and totally worth the effort! I flavored the cutouts individually with granulated sugar, a few with whole almods and the rest with freshly ground cinnamon. Thank you very much for sharing this absolutely delicious recipe!
