About this Cook
I'm a single professional that loves to cook, but doesn't like cooking for one. I been following a low carb diet for over 5 years (Curves diet plan) and it's been working. Laurie's low-carb recipes are my favorite! I get bored with the same recipes after awhile....So I'm always looking to add to my recipe box.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that makes the home smell good. I prefer quick and easy....because while I love to cook, I hate to clean. Once dinner is made I don't want to be in the kitchen any longer. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love learning traditional Jewish soul food. Brisket and Matzoh Ball Soup. The student has excelled the master on those levels. My mother "kvells" that my soup is better than hers ;) I love making holiday cookies every December. I become an elf and love bringing cookies to work and to friends and family.
My cooking tragedies
It was International Food Day my Freshsman year of High School and I made a French Silk Pie which was nothing more than chocolate flavored butter. It was the most vile thing I've ever tasted. Looking back I wish we had the internet so I could come check out other recipes before just following the one my French teacher gave me.

Pareve Corn Kugel
My mom said it best. "If Dad went for has to be good!" I served this as an alternative to a traditional noodle kugel for Kol Nidre dinner. The cranberries were a nice complement to the fall holiday table. It was very easy to prepare. I didn't have a pan larger than 9x13, so I cooked it in a 8x11 and placed in a 9x13 dish for the bath. I already plan to make it for Thanksgiving and I've been asked to forward the recipe to my mom who plans to serve it for an up-coming dinner party. This will definitely become a part of my cooking repitoire. Enjoy!!
