A Baker's Secret for Bread Machines

This didn't turn out at all. I did it exactly as said in the recipe, and I got a small, hard, weirdly shaped loaf. Definitely won't be making this again.

Savory Sausage, Cheese and Oat Muffins

Our family is not vegetarian, so I made the following substitutions: butter for margarine, 2 eggs for egg substitute, and real crumbled sausage for meatless patties. The muffins looked nice, but they just didn't have much flavor at all. I might add some cheddar next time, and maybe a teaspoon of seasoned salt to the dry ingredients. They were just way too bland.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Country White Bread

This bread was AMAZING. Every time I've tried to make bread, in the past, it has been heavy and dense. This bread turned out light and fluffy and SO delicious. I did have to add a little more flour (maybe a cup more?) than the recipe called for, but made no changes other than that. Didn't find it to be overly sweet like the many other reviewers. It was just perfect. Will make again and again.

Apple Pie

Easy Decadent Truffles

I adore this recipe and make them every chance I get. They are SO good and always get tons of compliments. I like to dip them in different kinds of chocolate and then sprinkle with toppings (nuts, coconut, sugar, etc). YUM!

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

These were incredible. After reading the reviews, I doubled the baking powder and added a 1/4 tsp of baking soda. I also was sure to grease the pan. They were incredible and I'll be making them again and again. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Southern Gal Biscuits

I made these exactly as the recipe stated, and wasn't thrilled. They were good, and tasted great with sausage and gravy on top. But they crumbled terribly when I tried to butter them, which was a major disappointment. Will try a different recipe next time.

The Old Boy's Strawberry Pie

This pie was wonderful. I used a deep dish pie crust, so I added another cup of strawberries. Other than that, I made it as is. I wouldn't change a thing. It got rave reviews, and was SO SO good. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Sugar Cookie Glaze

I feel like I must have done something wrong with this recipe because I just didn't have the best results. I know I followed it exactly though (because I made it twice in order to have enough glaze). My issue was with how THICK the glaze was. It was literally impossible to get onto the cookies without the cookies breaking. I ended up microwaving it for about 20 seconds, and that helped, but it just got thick again so quickly. It does look nice on the cookies, and I love the flavor, but it was completely unmanageable. Next time I'll try to add more water or maybe less sugar. I don't want to end up with a dozen broken cookies again!

Whole Wheat Refrigerator Rolls

These were SO good. I made them for Thanksgiving today, and was worried that my husband wouldn't approve because of the whole wheat flour. He loved them though. I think he ate three (in addition to all of the other Thanksgiving food). Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

This was an awesome soup. I made a few minor changes. Added 2 cloves of garlic and 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt. And I don't care for noodles, so I used a cup of brown rice. It was delicious.

Fruit-Topped Buttermilk Pancakes

I'm surprised to read that others had a problem with the batter being to thick. My batter was so runny that I could barely make pancakes at all. The pancakes were super thin and strange. But they tasted awesome. I'm thinking that maybe I did something wrong... I'll definitely try them again because we loved the flavor. Hopefully they turn out better next time.
