Buttery Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
The best rolls I have ever made! I proofed the yeast in the milk first. I was worried as it took a long time to rise, much longeer than stated int he recipe but simply worth the wait!

Chicken Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
Wow! I made a few modifications though. Used three boneless chicken breasts and four chicken boullion cubes and filled the dutch oven half way with water. I also used one bag of soup veggies, as we like a lot of veggies. I added onion and about 1 tsp of minced garlic to the chicken while it boiled. I used salt, pepper and poultry seasoning as the spices. I thickened the stew with a flour/water mixture a little per reviews here saying it was too soupy. Dropped the dumplings by rounded teaspoon. Great comfort food!

Amazing Pecan Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
This is an amazing coffee cake! The batter will be very thick when you are finished mixing everyting together. I was a bit worried about this, but the cake so moist and tender! I left out the nuts, as I do not care for them in cakes and such. I will def. make over and over again!

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
As a balsamic lover, I was a wee bit disappointed in this recipe. I was hoping for a stronger flavor of the balsamic. I will def. make again and use more, or possibly add during the first cooking stage. Left out the nutmeg as I did not have any on hand. The amount of the remaining spices were perfect! Warming the ingredients before putting in the oven gave them a nice crisp texture that I have never really achieved with roasted tatos before..thanks for the tip! Thank you for sharing!

Garlic Parmesan Monkey Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
Made thi sin my bundt pan. I coul dnot find bread dough at the store, so I used frozen Parkerhouse rolls instead. Good choice, as I only had to break each piece in half. I used up all the dipping ingredients long before I was done assembling. Need at least 1/2 more than recipe states. I also added 2 tsp garlic powder and it could have used more. Next time, I will dip each piece inthe butter mixture, then roll in parmesan cheese. However, the presentation in the middle of the table was great! Everyone enjoyed "picking" their bread off the ring! Thanks for the recipe!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2008
As recommneded by a few others, I mixed the ranch dressing and teriaki sauce. I also bought teriaki sauce, not marinade. However, I did marinate the chicken breasts in 1/3 cup of the teriaki sauce for three hours prior to cooking. I used real bacon, which I think only added to the great flavor. Very very moist and delicious. I will make again!

Southern-Style Meat Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
Wow! I have been searching for sauce like my Mom made. She past away in 1996, but I found her sauce with this recipe! I tripled the recipe so I could freeze some for a later date. The amount of spice is perfect, would not change one single thing! Thank you for bringing my Mom back to me with this sauce! Addition made to my review 11.08.09, why some reviewers make changes before trying the original recipe is beyond me..how can you review and rate a recipe that you have not tried? Try the original recipe then review and rate it..give it a shot before you pass judgement, all recipes are to ones taste, if you do not like spicey sauce, than this one is not for you! You should not try this one and give it a bad review if you do not like spicy sauce .....it is SPICY sauce, anyone can see that from the ingredients.

Meatloaf With A Bite

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2007
The very best meatloaf I have ever made, and I have made quite a few from this website. After reading reviews, I was afraid of the loaf being mushy, so I used 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef and kept the rest of the ingredients the same, and it turned out moist and did not fall apart. Thank you for a wonderful recipe! *****Second time around*****I chopped jalepeno peppers and used all pepper jack cheese--Now it has some bite! Yummy!

Banana Pudding I

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2007
My first attempt at homemade pudding..it is WONDERFUL! And easy to boot! I used a double boiler and whisked the mixture constantly until thickened. I crushed nilla wafers and sprinkled on top to keep from getting a "film" and it also made a really pretty presentation.

Baklava

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
I gave this a 5 because of the response from everyone at my dinner party. They loved it, I thought it was okay. However, I Have never eaten it before to give a comparison. You have to work fast with that phyllo, keep it under a piece of plastic wrap, then a moist towel on top.
