These certainly live up to their name. They are just the kind I would expect to get a a bakery. I doubled the recipe and made as stated with zero problems. I read the reviews, never ever under any circumstances leave the dough out over night, raw egg & butter is just a breeding play ground for bacteria. If your cookies falls flat then soften your butter instead of melting it. I had no trouble with mine as I made them using a 1/4 cup cookie size as instructed. They are VERY sweet, I used 1/2 dark chocolate and 1/2 semi sweet (just because its what I had on hand) had I used milk chocolate they would have been to sweet all around but they turned out perfectly. If you do use milk chocolate I recommend you cut the white sugar by 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup if you double it. Perfect amount of chocolate chip for me though my husband disagreed & would have used less, just eyeball it and use what works for you. Keep covered in an airtight container with a heel of bread & they will not harden.
