That was fun. I got 8 out of 10. Missed Culler (although Lord knows I've eaten enough of them..who knew) and the Baked Alaska. But truly my skills would never allow me to even attempt a Baked Alaska. I'm gonna go have a cookie and try to feel better.

awe thats okay, I missed the pie and tart. I guess I make a pumpkin tart for thanksgiving, who knew.

Jun. 1, 2009 9:11 am
Oh I failed. It said 3-4 correct answers out of 10.

Jun. 1, 2009 9:14 am
with the awesome cakes you make I wouldnt feel badly. Have you figured out more on your castle cake?

Jun. 1, 2009 9:18 am
Awwww thank you! As for the castle cake, I haven't figured it all out yet. I'm still pondering on it but am leaning towards this website with instructions and everything http://www.cakeboss.com/CastleTutorial.aspx I have until July 27 so I have plenty of time.

I got 8 right! Would have been 9 but I've never had or made a baked Alaska!

Jun. 1, 2009 9:28 am

Jun. 1, 2009 9:29 am
8/10 for me. I somehow foolishly missed the 'fool' question, and I also missed the crueller, which I would debate. The french crueller at Dunkin Donuts is all one piece in a ring shape fried in oil.

Jun. 1, 2009 9:30 am
I scratched my head a bit at the baked alaska too. I new a torch was involved so it would have to be meringue and alaska is cold so icecream made the most sense to me. I have never heard the term fool with desserts. When in doubt the letter C LOL

Avon I got the same as you and also the same two wrong. I agree the french crueller at Dunkin Donuts is one piece ring shpaed and fried in oil. I had no clue what a fool was. Learned something new.

9 out of 10! Missed the 'fool' - who knew - sounds yummy, though!

Jun. 1, 2009 10:00 am
I got 8 correct as well. I missed the bread pudding one (I know next to nothing about liquor!) and the baked Alaska; the recipe I have calls for chocolate! No fair!!

Jun. 1, 2009 10:06 am
I guessed bourbon because of the famous bourbon street my second guess woulda been rum. Maybe they use that on thier pudding in the carribean.

I was identical to Avon....8/10 missed the fool (although my second guess was the correct answer) and the crueller.

Jun. 3, 2009 2:52 pm
8/10 tart vs. pie seems not well written to me, and although I have heard of a fool, I guess I never really knew what one was.

8/10. Fooled by the fool - my choice would have been correct for a trifle. And I missed the tart; it seems all tarts are pies, but not all pies are tarts... Wow, I'm hungry now!

About Me
I have a gaggle of kids*(ages 12,9,6 and 4 months) 2 dogs, a cat, a bunny and a partridge in a pear tree =) luckily just one husband ;). Things are always crazy and we're always on the go. Its a high speed low drag kinda life. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
My favorite things to cook
In the winter I make muffins at least 4 times a week; My kids like to run around singing "do you know the muffin mom, the muffin mom, the muffin mom" I love cooking from scratch and my lil princess Taylor "one teaspoon" Paxton always down for the ride.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mon, Wed, and Sat are set "dessert nights". Sunday's jammie snack days, in the winter we stay in PJ's all day and I prepare a feast of finger food for football and we graze rather than sit formally.
My cooking triumphs
My cakes haves caused something of a stir among family and friends and I never sacrifice taste for a more aesthetically pleasing cake. My husband is a huge fan of my red and white lasagna.
My cooking tragedies
My first meal for my husband (isn't there always a tragic story associated with the first meal). We had just moved into a townhouse and the dust caused me to be completely stuffy (for about a month after moving) and I couldn’t taste a thing. His favorite meal is Lasagna which of course being the dutiful domestic goddess I am I HAD to make for him it seems I overdid it a little on the garlic...well a lot. I used the jarred minced garlic with didn't seem very powerful enough to me. He ate it smiling all the way asking for seconds to keep me from tearing up (ahhhh that's the good stuff). He teases me now telling me I nearly burned off his tongue.
