Everyone had a ball with the first foodie survey started by LTH, so she started up another one! It has been making its way around AR blogs, so here we go...

Chefs you admire:

Gordon Ramsey
What cooking shows do you watch?

Cake Boss, Hells Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and I avoid everything that has anything to do with Rachal Ray

You must-have kitchen accessory is:

My Kitchen Aid mixer. I named her Mary Elizabeth... hey shes part of the family too!! Taylor my 3 year old daughter will actually "pet" her and tell her what a good mixer she is as we're making chocolate chip cookies. "Your a guud gurl mawy ewizabeft" =)

What is your go-to ingredient?

Garlic, everything is better with garlic.

What is your favorite course?

Anything with carbs. If I had a choice of plain spaghetti or chocolate cake the pasta would win out (at least 3 weeks out of a month)

What famous person, living or dead, would you like to make a meal for?

I dream of making dinner for Gordon Ramsey

And what would you serve them?

What’s your favorite style of cooking?

I dont care as long as its made with lots of love

What nationality of food do you like the best?

I would have to say italian, but its tough to decide since all cusines are so different. But I do LOVE eel sushi!

What is your favorite meal of the day to prepare?

Dinner or desserts. I'm having a lot of fun playing with fondant.

Where do you find inspiration when creating a new dish?

The exchange and everyone there is so helpful. I've started writing a cook book with recipes I've created and family ones passed down to me, where they came from etc, which I can have bound and can pass down to future generations .
Who has been your greatest inspiration in the kitchen?

My family. They are the whole reason why I slave away for hours trying new and interesting things.

What is your favorite comfort food?

Clam Chowder it is I have to say the best I've ever had and is so warning on blistery snowy days.

Do you ever eat fast food? If so, what?

Not really ever. I have an intolerence for fried of overly greasy good. Any oils (other than olive) I have to exercise extreme caution when consuming. However when traveling Its almost impossible not to eat fast food so I'll hunt down a Burger King for thier Rodeo Burger.

What restaurant do you want to eat at that you haven’t eaten at yet?

Gordon Ramseys... Are we seeing a patten yet?

What do you serve at Thanksgiving dinner?

Turkey,my MIL's stuffing, mashed potatoes, Paxton raspberry salad cranberry sauce, stuffed celery, gravy, pecan pie

Next year is the year to try the turducken

Are there wines or liquors that you cook with?

I always have red, white wine on hand, as well as sherry, champagne, mirin, sake, vodka. We dont drink so I alway have whatever I need with the exception of beer. I usually have to "borrow" a can since I cant see getting a 6 pack 5 of which will go stale long before I have a use for it.

How much time do you spend cooking a meal just for yourself?

If its just me, 10 minutes tops, but for my family all bets are off. I send days making my daughters 3rd birthday cake. Everything but the figurines was edible. The candles were the most fun. to give credit where it is certainly do JOSEPHINE aka SPITFIRE FOODIE gave me A LOT of help (months before and while actually making the fondant) with ideas and websites to come up with the final product.

What would be your dream job as a chef?

I would love to run and own my own restaraunt, or be the next Martha Stewart (minus the stripes but I still love her anyways). Unfortunatley its so not condusive to the challenges of child rearing.

What scent in the kitchen do you love – what ingredient smells the best?

Garlic Hands down. 2nd would be the caramelizing of onions.

What ingredients do you avoid/dislike?

Tofu, Feta, Lamb (as a personal choice not because of flavor dislike), I'm not a big mushroom fan, water chestnuts

What’s your secret splurge at the grocery store?

=) sneaking in kitchen gagets I dont need and paid way to much for but I simply could not live without.

What’s your favorite snack?

Wow talk about pretentious... your review of that alfredo sauce was bitter to say the least. That IS what alfredo sauce is. And with your cooking 'expertise' you added 1/8 tsp of pepper? Wow. That's impressive.. almost as impressive as using jarred minced garlic! You're a goddess, your kids are all angels and so on... time to get off your high horse You do make nice cakes though. On the other hand, using marzipan doesn't really require much skill, and the cake is essentially inedible. But nice nonetheless!

About Me
I have a gaggle of kids*(ages 12,9,6 and 4 months) 2 dogs, a cat, a bunny and a partridge in a pear tree =) luckily just one husband ;). Things are always crazy and we're always on the go. Its a high speed low drag kinda life. But I wouldn't have it any other way.
My favorite things to cook
In the winter I make muffins at least 4 times a week; My kids like to run around singing "do you know the muffin mom, the muffin mom, the muffin mom" I love cooking from scratch and my lil princess Taylor "one teaspoon" Paxton always down for the ride.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mon, Wed, and Sat are set "dessert nights". Sunday's jammie snack days, in the winter we stay in PJ's all day and I prepare a feast of finger food for football and we graze rather than sit formally.
My cooking triumphs
My cakes haves caused something of a stir among family and friends and I never sacrifice taste for a more aesthetically pleasing cake. My husband is a huge fan of my red and white lasagna.
My cooking tragedies
My first meal for my husband (isn't there always a tragic story associated with the first meal). We had just moved into a townhouse and the dust caused me to be completely stuffy (for about a month after moving) and I couldn’t taste a thing. His favorite meal is Lasagna which of course being the dutiful domestic goddess I am I HAD to make for him it seems I overdid it a little on the garlic...well a lot. I used the jarred minced garlic with didn't seem very powerful enough to me. He ate it smiling all the way asking for seconds to keep me from tearing up (ahhhh that's the good stuff). He teases me now telling me I nearly burned off his tongue.
