Mashed Potatoes and Buttermilk

I made this for two separate dinners this Christmas. I made the first on the day of the dinner and the dish was very good but not outstanding, but I noticed that this dish tasted better the next day so on the the second dinner, I made this the day before and reheated it in the oven on the day of the dinner. Wow it was the best mashed potatoes. The flavours were yummy! I did use less buttermilk. I added it slowly until I achieved the desired consistency and I did not use the buttermilk as a dipping sauce. The bacon really made the difference.

Sweet and Buttery Turnips

This recipe was a hit at all 3 Christmas dinners that I had to prepare! I did cut back on the liquid, adding the cream slowly until I achieved the desired consistency. I even had Turnip haters asking for more.

Do-Ahead Stuffing

Wow! I really impressed my in-laws with this recipe and all I did was follow the directions. I made this 2 separate times. One with homemade breadcrumbs and the other with store bought. The best outcome was when I took 2 loaves of bread, cubed them and dried them in the oven to make homemade breadcrumbs ( serving 16). I found that they soak up the liquid a lot more then the really dried store bought bread crumbs, allowing them to retained a lot more flavour. I did make this recipe 2 days before each dinner. It was the first dish to disappear. There were no left overs! This recipe made me look like a chef, when in reality I rarely have time to cook. Thank you!
