Brownie Batter + Cupcake = The SECOND BEST Cupcake. Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
These are excellent! However, they only make 24, not 48, regular sized cupcakes. I also make my own brownie batter and I make 1/2 a recipe and it's the perfect amount this one cake mix. My picture is #49 and shows the brownie in the middle. I achieved this by putting some cake batter on the bottom of the liner, then used a one teaspoon cookie scoop to add the brownie, then topped with more cake batter. I topped with Caramel Frosting V from this site (which I followed the reviews for and added 3 cups of powdered sugar while beating. It made enough for about 28 cupcakes). Thanks for a fabulous new dessert! I've gotten amazing feedback, including one comment that it was the best thing she'd ever eaten.

Asian Orange Chicken

Super yummy! I'll have to leave out the red pepper flakes next time because two of my boys couldn't handle the spice, but the rest of us loved it! I made 50% more sauce because we love sauce!

Loved it! We added the garlic while cooking the onion, and also added cauliflower in addition to the broccoli. A big hit, all around!

Delicious! I followed recipe as written, except to sub sugar for the honey. I also added thinly sliced tomatoes to the top. We all loved it and I'll definitely be making again!

Gingersnap Pumpkin Cream Tart

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
This is delicious! The first time I made this, I made as mini tarts by using 2/3 of the crust recipe and 1/2 of the filling recipe. I cooked the crust for 5-8 minutes in mini muffin tins, then piped the filling in with wilton tip 1M and a pastry bag. It made 30 mini tarts. Absolutely yummy!

Rich Chocolate Truffle Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
Wowsers! What a hit these were! I made as mini truffle pies (used the vanilla wafer crust in a mini muffin tin...bake at about 350 for 5-8 minutes...don't burn them! 1 box of wafers made 30 tarts) I used wilton icing tip 1M to fill these little babies. They were decadent and gorgeous! I will be making again and again!

Black Cat Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
I give this 5 * for the cuteness factor, but wasn't at all impressed with the taste of the cookies. I agree they seemed bland. They tasted like chocolate, no doubt, just had no "interest" to them, if you will (I do, however, freely admit to being a cookie snob LOL). I followed the recipe exactly and had no issues with stickiness...actually seemed a little dry to me...so I didn't refrigerate at all. I made 44 3" diameter cookies...didn't use popsicle sticks. I baked 8 minutes, popped on the candies, and then baked for another 2-3 minutes. It was a fun little project with my kiddos though. Thanks for the idea! Edited: I made these a second time and with the following changes they were great. I added about an ounce or so of melted chocolate chips, about 3 T of water and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. This made a nice, soft, tasty cookie. It made them a tad sticky for shaping, but the sugar on the glass took care of that. Overall, much tastier!

Old-Fashioned Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I have made this several times and my family loves it! Yummy with cheese and bacon on top. I usually boil the potatoes in the same pot with the onion (which I puree and then cook with the butter and some garlic) then puree some of the potatoes to thicken the base a bit before adding the milk. Thanks for a great recipe!
