Bella's Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Real Hummus

I will be making a lot of this! I boiled the beans for about 15 minutes and removed the skins that rose to the top. I didn't have fresh lemon juice on hand but bottled worked just as well. Really yummy and healthy snack with carrots or pretzels.

Italian Cream Cake I

Sugar Cookie Icing

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus

Awesome flavor! I was afraid that I wasn't going to like the texture because I couldn't get my FP to blend it as smooth as my favorite store bought but it came out great and I was really glad I decided to try it.

Banana Banana Bread

This is my new favorite banana bread recipe. I made with 4 large extra ripe bananas and blended everything but the dry ingredients in my new FP then mixed the rest by hand. It came out dense but moist which is just the way we like it.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

This review is based on Hubby's proclamation that it was better than Cheesecake Factory's. I did make a few changes based on other's reviews: added cinnamon and sugar to the crust, but next time I will add an egg white to bind it together a little better. I only used 2T flour because I wanted a creamier cake rather and oh was it! I used a water bath and baked at 350 for 1 hour and left in oven for about 2-3 hours before transferring to fridge. I had a perfectly set cake by morning with no cracks. The only other thing I will change next time is to use a cooking bag instead of double wrapped foil around my pan. I ended up with soggy crust, but it didn't affect the taste of the cheesecake a bit.

Very easy to make for my first time with homemade biscuits. My shortning wasn't cold so I added 2 tablespoons of cold butter, next time I will chill my shortning the night before.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Very easy to make, you definitely need to cook low and keep whisking. I made with kraft parmesan and that was the only thing I could taste. Next time will make with fresh grated parm and use a little less.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Wonderful Recipe! Even though they take some time to make they were so easy! I made 2 batches back to back and refridgerated overnight, took out in the morning and let set for about 1/2 hour before baking @ 400 for 15 minutes. The first batch came out a little doughy and sunk a bit in the middle. So I baked the 2nd batch a little longer, they came out and looked perfect, but I actually preferred the taste of the doughy ones better :)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

I wasn't sure what to expect with these cupcakes. I thought I would either end up with a cookie texture or a dough texture in the middle, but the cookie really ended up the same texture as the cake. You could tell it was there, but not in the form that I was hoping for. Followed the directions exactly, used a medium cookie scoop and froze the cookie balls throughouly before putting on top of cake batter. Used Hershey chocolate frosting on top. Still went over well with everyone so not a complete loss.

Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes

I made these with pineapple cake and used the pineapple juice and they came out a bit too sweet for my taste, but very moist and tasty. I used a standard muffin tin and used approx 1/2 pinapple ring for each cup. They came out very cute though.

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

I too hate when rating are given after completely modifying the recipe. I made 2 batches as written back to back. The first batch came out burnt and tasteless, the 2nd batch I decreased the cooking time on the crust and top to 15 minutes and they came out better. Next time I will find a different recipe or follow the suggestions to modify.
