Chicken Lo Mein

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
I had this all made up, and realized I had forgotten the sesame oil...I went to drizzle it over the top, and then realized what I had was RICE WINE VINEGAR! I thought I had for sure ruined the dish. I added some sesame oil anyway. It was GREAT! Not vinegary at all! I used brocolli, nappa cabbage, and zuchini as my veggies. The sauce was great, but I do think it might be missing a little something. Maybe a bit of spice? My kids all ate seconds so I can't rate it less than five stars! Thanks for a great recipe to use to then create my own dish!

Michelle's Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
The cookies taste good, the dough is easy to work with. I made it just as stated but used real butter instead of margarine. I only gave it 3 stars because I as looking for SOFT sugar cookies. Mine came out far from soft. They are crisp just like the other sugar cookie recipe I had... I tried rolling them out thicker, still not soft. Maybe it had to do with using real butter. I am not sure. Anyway they taste good, but I am still on the look out for a SOFT sugar cookie.

Simple, Classic Chicken Potpie

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2010
This is my first time making pot pie. I used a whole rotisserie chicken, and then made my stock from the carcass instead of buying cans. I also did not use the sherry/wine instead I just added the extra stock in to replace it. I used a bag of mixed veggies instead of just peas/carrots. I made one full size pot pie, and then 4 small personal size pot pies (for the kids) they were a hit! Very yummy. Next time I will make 2 large ones and freeze one as its plenty for my family of 6 if you add a salad.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
I made this just as stated, only I did not measure the cinamon. I thought this turned out WONDERFUL. It was not runny at all like others said. Next time, and there WILL BE a next time... I will change only that I will peel the apples as I didnt this time, and I will too double the topping recipe, and place some under and on top. The crunch was my favorite part, I may just make THAT next time!

Best of the Best Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
There is no way this could rate under 5 stars! I made 3 types of muffins today, and theese were BY FAR the very best! I used mixed berries, frozen that I thawed, and I didnt have buttermilk so I used the skim I had on hand... I also had no more flour after the first 2 batches of muffins, so I used cake flour. I didnt have paper liners but i used the spray with flour in it, and once cooled some, they came out of the tin just wonderful! The berries inside were AWESOME! I could easily eat one of theese muffins for breakfast EVERYDAY. I will use this batter for other variations as well. Next time I might add less berries and some banana. The possibllities are endless! Thank you for sharing your grandma's kick butt muffin recipe! This is by far the best I have had!

Eve's Chicken Quarters

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
I made this once before, But I dont think I followed the directions right, I made it again tonight and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The chicken skin was cripsy, the rice was JUST right it was a great recipe and I will make it again and again. The whole family liked it! I used uncle bens mushroom flavor wild rice, and I used lowfat cream of chicken and lowfat sour cream, hoping to lower fat content, this is a healthy, easy, and CHEEP meal to make! Very good! Thank you!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
5 stars from me! I have made this bread now I think 6 times. I love it! The kids love it, and this year, Im giving loaves for a gift for co workers, and Im pretty sure, they will LOVE IT! I somtimes use 1/2 oatbran flour, inplace of the white, and then top raw bread with a bit of quick oats, and sprinkle of ciniman sugar on top! I also like to add some walnuts, we like bananna nut bread. Its a great recipe, thank you for it!

Baked Pork Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I love theese! I have made them now several times. Somtimes I add shrimp or chicken instead of pork. I add bean sprouts at times as well. I LOVE that they are baked, not fried, and still come out crispy! My only suggestion for others, is to make sure you get SPRING ROLL Wrappers, not the stuff that most grocerystores carry. The real oriental stores carry wrappers that are about 1/8 thinner than those you can get at the grocery. The thinner wrappers makes theese cook up just like a real spring roll. The thicker store bought wrappers, make for a less crisp, chewy srpingroll, although still GREAT! You can also bake theese, and then freeze them and have them for a quick snack. I always make about 100 when I make them! Oh and I had to add, instead of fussing with turning after 10 minuets. I set my oven to BROIL for hte last 10 min and lower the rack. This cooks them nicely on BOTH sides w/o the worry of turning!

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2005
I would give this an extra star if I could... I made this for our Thanksgiving supper. I said I would bring the sweet potatoes. I was told that sweet potatoes are what I bring FROM NOW ON. Everyone RAVED over how great this was, and I must say... It was great! I didnt have seconds of anything BUT the sweet potatoes! They are awesome and I will make them every thanksgiving, and whenever I have a meal that will go well with this. They ROCK! I did add some ciniman to the potatoes and to the strusel, just because. It turned out wonderful. Thanks SO much for sharing this recipe!

I made this tonight, and it was great! I Love the sauce and I think the next time I make spaghetti I will use this recipe for my sauce! I did add some mushrooms in with the onion to simmer and some fresh garlic as well. I also added 6 slices of provolone cheese, Im a big fan of cheese. This recipe was by far the best I have tasted I will make it again, and again and again. Thank you SO much for sharing it!
