About this Cook
I am a college student (I cook mostly to avoid dorm food), and I'm studying dance...Ballet, modern, etc. Dance and food are two conflicting passions of mine, but I'm learning to reconcile them with healthy, energizing recipes. Most of my meals are slightly makeshift because I'm vegetarian and I have limited resources financially and equipmentally.
My favorite things to cook
Gourmet meals for dinner parties. Risottos, desserts, breads and muffins, exciting salads, soups and chilis. My absolute favorite thing is to experiment!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies is about it--I learned to cook from my friends, not my family (they're Velveeta-shells-and-cheese and Rice-a-Roni people)
My cooking triumphs
A triple chocolate birthday cake for my roommate's birthday. I made tons of friends that night.
My cooking tragedies
I've broken more glasses than I can count. And one time I had a boiling honey explosion...there's still a burn mark on my hip.

Very Berry Muffins
They were great, but I'm glad I heeded those reviewers who thought they needed to be sweeter! I used freshly picked mulberries, which aren't too sweet by themselves, and I added about 1/8 cup white sugar and drizzled honey on top.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men
Everyone loved these, but I had a hard time rolling out the dough after the recommended hour. It was much better after chilling overnight, but I still used a lot of flour in the roll-out process.

Double Chocolate Biscotti
Very good. I saved the semi-sweet chocolate chips, and after the biscotti were done, I melted the chips and spread the melted chocolate over one half of the tops of the cookies.
