About this Cook
I LOVE to cook and have for a long time. I enjoy having people gather at my home for good times & good foods. I collect cookbooks and recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I really love to cook just about anything. I am more of a semi-homemade kind of cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom & myself cooking for our "large" family for holidays is the best tradition we have.
My cooking triumphs
Becoming a better cook over the years. Not hearing these words - WHAT IS THIS?????? lololol
My cooking tragedies
When I first started cooking (19 yrs old) I made a DEEP DISH pizza, but I use a regular cookie sheet to bake. The next thing I knew...Apartment full of smoke. Didn't realize DEEP DISH means use DEEP DISH. Everything ran over the sides of cookie sheet and landed on bottom of stove. HUGE MESS..... We took the pan out of oven and we just had to scoop out of pan to eat. I learn a valuable lesson there. DO WHAT THE DIRECTIONS SAY TO

7-Up(R) Biscuits
I tried these this past weekend and they are great. I cut the amount of 7up down to 1/2 cup. I melted the butter in the pan that I was going to cook the biscuits in, instead of adding to the dough mixture. I patted out the dough on a lightly dusted surface (with bisquick) to fit my 9 in square pan and used a biscuit cutter to cut my biscuits. I then added the cut biscuits to the melted butter in the 9 in pan. This is definitely a keeper. I think next time I make these I am going to pat out dough to fit my 9 in square pan and use a pizza cutter and cut into 9 pieces. Thanks for sharing this great recipes.

The Best Cheeseball
I have made this cheeseball for several parties now and its always a big hit. We don't care for cilantro, so I just shape it and leave it plain.

Crackers a la Yvette
These are great for parties, gifts or for traveling. I have been making these for years. You can also use the Fiesta Hidden Valley mix for a spicy cracker. My family prefers the fiesta flavoring with extra pepper flakes.
