Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. My family are fabulous sous chef's and we enjoy the time together cooking and eating.
My favorite things to cook
I'm always looking for new favorites and am creating a family cookbook to pass down. I think a recipe collection is one of the most valuable things you can give or receive in a family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Everyone picks what they want for their birthday dinner. It invariably makes for a hot day of cooking because everyone is born in the summer but it makes them happy so it's worth it. This year my daughter wants turkey dinner with all of the fixings and her birthday is in June.
My cooking triumphs
I can cook anything I try in a restaurant.
My cooking tragedies
I was trying to make a chicken and sausage rose sauce. It went badly from the beginning but I kept throwing ingredients in trying to save it. I even sent my husband to the store to get more stuff to put in it. He eventually had to stop me and order pizza.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza
Used three cheese ranch. Added the green onions and chopped tomatoes after it came out of the oven, we don't like them cooked. Delicious! Thanks for sharing!

Charleston Breakfast Casserole
I cubed and toasted a day old loaf of french bread while the oven was preheating, sauted a large onion in the bacon grease with the red pepper. Used 10 eggs and 1/2 and 1/2 instead of milk. Was perfectly cooked after an hour. We loved it! Thanks for sharing!

Crustless Spinach Quiche
This recipe is awesome! The entire outside surface gets a wonderful self-crust instead of the typical burnt around the rim - gooey on the bottom quiche crust. And you don't even have to think about gluten! Thanks for sharing!
