Wild Rice Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2005
My husband and I both loved this recipe. I did do as another person suggested and sauted the chicken (2 cups) in Italian seasoning and Garlic before sticking everything in a crockpot to cook on high for 4 hrs. This is perfect for a fall/winter meal!

Fruited Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2006
A very tasty dish that both my husband and I enjoyed. Things I did different, I used 2 chicken breasts instead of 4 (only 2 of us to feed), and half the amount of onion (not to thrilled with raw onions). Overall a very good recipe that allows for changes according to invidual taste.

Sweet-and-Sour Meatballs

Devoured by both Husband and daughter. Did do as suggest in other reviewers and halved the amount of vinegar. Did use fresh pineapple instead of canned.

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
I got rave reviews from my family on this recipe. I used Grey Poupon Dijon mustard and the flavor was complementary with the salmon without overpowering it. The crust that goes with this recipe is also outstanding. Definitely a recipe I'm keeping.

Apricot Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2011
Incredibly versatile recipe. I've been using the sauce as a stir fry sauce for several months now, just using different vegetables. It's always a hit with my husband and daughter.

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
I altered the recipe slightly, using all butter and substituting chocolate chips for raisins. Entirely to yummy for my own good.

Sweet Pepper Pasta Toss with Kale

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2008
I've done this recipe a few different times, and its been well received by both my husband and toddler. I've actually done the variation suggested by another reviewer (used mushrooms instead of pasta) and it worked so well that it's now added as a permanent side dish on my weekly menu.

Dijon-Dill Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I didn't use the water chestnuts but did everything else as directed. Both my husband and I generally dislike brussel sprouts, but this made a hit with both of us. Definitely a keeper!

Tuna Fish Special

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2008
Excellent dish. Family really enjoyed it, especially my husband. Things I did different (what I had in pantry), used spaghetti instead of chow mein, and no almonds. Definitely a staple in my recipe book. Thanks for submitting it!

Pasta With Tuna Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2008
Changes I made because of what I had on hand; only used 1/2 an onion, 3 medium fresh tomatoes, and did not add parsley. Flavor was great, and I think this is a versatile recipe. Will try it with mushrooms or peas next time. My family enjoyed it, as it didn't have a fishy flavor to it.

Onion Quiche

This is a staple for my recipe book. Its delicious as is and extremely adaptable to whatever you have on hand. I have added bacon, toasted pine nuts, paprika and nutmeg to it with great success.

Both my husband and I rate this a 5 star. It was easy to make (I used the alternative canned crabmeat & imitation listed), filling and full of flavor.

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2006
My family loved this. I did as another reviewer suggested and paired this with the pan-fried asparagus and brown rice with lime sorbet for dessert. I did put pesto sauce on the top of the chicken and cooked it for 30 minutes @ 400 degrees.

Pastry Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
I'd like to say that this was delicious in a cake or pie but it never made it that far. Once it cooled it was devoured by 2 adults and 2 children. Would be perfect with some seasonal fruit, if it can last that long in the house. :) Yes, definitely a keeper, as is.

Holiday Cranberry-Pomegranate Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
My husband, toddler and I all very much enjoyed this sauce, and it's going to be a regular item at the dinner table from now on. The only thing I did different from the recipe was to pull the cinnamon sticks from the sauce after 3 hours instead of waiting a full 8 hours. It was spicy enough without being overwhelming, for us, at that point.
