Key Lime Pie VII

I made this pie for Easter dessert because key lime pie is my mom and my boyfriend's favorite. It was very easy.. I used bottled lime juice. It didn't look ready at 8 minutes so I let it bake for about 12 minutes and then I saw the tiny bubbles. I put it in the fridge overnight and served it today. (Easter Sunday) Everyone loved it and my boyfriend said it was restaurant quality. Thank you. I will make this again.

Bolognese Sauce

I sauteed 1/2 an onion which I later discarded with minced garlic and bacon strips. I left the bacon and fat in the pan. I added a can of plain tomato sauce, salt, more garlic and grated cheese. (add grated cheese to the sauce) I also put 4 baby carrots in the sauce, but later discarded them. I didn't add any more vegetables. I browned the hamburger meat, drained the grease and added meat to the sauce. It cooked on very low heat for 2 hours and tastes amazing. I scooped out the sauce and tossed with angel hair spaghetti. I will make again.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

This was my first time making peach pie and me and my fiance loved it. It was his request and he said it was perfect. This was easy and I will make it again. Thank you. PS: I left the pie in the oven for 10 minutes with the oven shut off.

Eclairs II

I followed this recipe exactly and thought the cream filling was a little too loose. However, it tasted great. Also, I spooned the shell (dough) onto a greased cookie sheet with a spoon. I'll definitely get a piping bag next time. Thank you. These were great.

Rose Galletta's Ricotta Pie

I followed the recipe, but the ricotta filling seemed too loose so I added a little more ricotta. Unfortunately, I didn't add more sugar so it lacked a little. I was very careful adding the ricotta to the pie shell because I didn't want it to overflow, but I think I could have put more in. I brushed the top pie crust with eggs so it was shiny/had nice color. I also dusted with powdered sugar. I would make this again and tweak it just a little bit.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake IV

I was a little disappointed because the cake got stuck in the pan and fell apart in some areas. I don't know where I went wrong because I even sprayed the pan with Pam. Anyhow, everyone loved it and I'll give it a second try. Thank you.

Filipino Lumpia

I bought a bag of cole slaw mix and added canned mini shrimps instead of pork. I used a little too much salt (didn't measure salt), but they otherwise tasted good. I'll try again tomorrow using pork and less salt. Best I've tried. Thank you.

Ricotta Pie

I scaled back this recipe and made this pie for my parents on Thanksgiving Day. They said the taste was good, but I over-cooked it. Because the pie seemed loose, I left it in the oven too long. I now realize that when the knife is clean and it's still loose, take the pie out of the oven and let it sit. I will make this again on Christmas morning. Thank you.

Easy Pancakes

I've never made pancakes and wanted to give this a try. Unfortunately, I did not read the prior reviews. I knew something looked wrong with the batter and now I know why... too much b. powder. They tasted alright, but what doesn't taste good when you add tons of butter and maple syrup. Ugh.

Harvest Pork Stew

I made some changes only because I forgot the recipe and I was going off memory. I cooked the onion with butter and shut off flame when onion was soft. I then added a handful of flour. The mixture was sticky. I then boiled broth (same pan) and reduced heat to let vegetables & apple cook/simmer. (I was using leftover pork so I skipped that part) I also added celery for color and a few shakes of red pepper flakes for a bite. I will make this again & think it's better than beef stew... in my opinion. Thanks.
