I am 18 years old. I have always loved to cook, and have had a few part time jobs working in restaurants. I love to make dessrts and am always looking for new things to try. My favourite tradition would have to be fruit cake. My grandmother made it, and many of my aunts, and now I make it, especially for Christmas. My greatest triumph in the kitchen was making consume. I was very excited because it turned out perfectly. I got everyone in the house to come and look at it as soon as it was done, however they didn't seem to share my enthusiasm. They didn't see what the big deal was, it was just soup, but they did say that it tasted great. My biggest disaster was when I was making cookies at work one time. I had accidentally set the temperature on the oven to high, and burnt over 400 cookies in one shot. All of them had to be thrown out, and let me tell you the Chef was not impressed.
