Bacon Water Chestnut Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2013
The only thing I do differently is to soak the water chestnuts in soy sauce the night before I make them. It adds a little bit of smokey goodness to the rest.

Sweet and Savory Kale

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2013
This has become a quick and simple staple in my house. I play a little fast and loose with the ingredients based on what's available...but LOVE this!

Honey-Brined Fried Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2012
This was pretty good all things considered. I tweaked it a little as I went by adding a favorite spice mix to the flour. The next time I make it I will double dredge the chicken as others have mentioned, and will make it on a weekend so time isn't such an issue.

Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
This is a simple and wonderful recipe, and I love the fact that it doesn't require the resting time my old one did. The only changes I made were to use half a cup of whole wheat flour, and half a cup of regular white, and to add a bit of vanilla. It was easy and fast and turned out great.

Maple-Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
This was a wonderful salad dressing, and one that I will definitely be making again with the tweaks suggested by other reviewers, (i.e. added one clove of garlic, and a little less olive oil). Next time I think I will add more syrup and less vinegar.

Pork Loin Chops in Apple Cream

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
This was good, with the potential to be great...but I found it a little bland. I skipped the coating on the meat as some reviewers suggested, and substituted apple juice and sauce for the cider. It ended up being a little bland. That being said I will be experimenting with this one again in the furture.

Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2008
This was fantastic! I made one loaf and twelve muffin/cupcakes using the suggestions offered in previous reviews, (ie. 1/2 cup of butter and 1 full cup of lemon yogurt, less than a 1/4 cup of poppy seeds, and the glaze suggested). The cupcakes went to everyone at work and they LOVED them, I've even had several people ask for the recipe. This one is going in my recipe box!

Tasty Tender Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
I didn't expect to like this recipe, but thought it sounded interesting enough to try. I was surprised by how good it turned out. Not only was it simple to make with fairly standard ingredients, but it was absolutely delicious! I am definitely adding this one to my favorites and will be making it again.

Tomato Barley Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2008
Being a bit of a soup novice this one was fantastic! It was easy to make, and used ingredients I had already. I will definately be making it again, though I think next time I'll be throwing in some chicken for a bit of protein.

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2006
This was fantastic and wonderfully simple. I marinated the tenderloin over night and it came out moist and tender, the soft sweetness of the honey having seeped all the way through. It is something that I will definitely be adding to my regular rotation.

Patti's Mussels a la Mariniere

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
I thought this was incredible, even if I had a slight mussel issue and had to substitute shrimp at the last minute. Which was fantastic in and of itself. It is an easy recipe to make, and is well worth it!

Creamy Butternut Squash With Cinnamon Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2006
This was a fantastic recipe! It was easy for a novice soup maker like myself, and turned out fabulously, even though I omitted the cayenne pepper. A nice touch I found was to garnish it with a bit of cilantro, not only did it look great beside the bit of sour cream floating on top, but for those who aren’t afraid to eat the garnish the flavors worked really well together. The only draw back to this was that sadly it didn’t reheat well. I will definitely be making this one again.
