Caramel Turtle Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
Sorry but these are not a brownie at all. It is cake and in my opinion a waste of a good bag of caramels and cake mix! If you want a fabulous brownie go with the Caramel Chocolate Brownies on this site. They take time but are a million times better!!!!!!!

Chocolate Praline Layer Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
Actually a Pillsbury recipe. I have made many times for family gatherings and everyone always loves it. If you butter the cake pans well, let them cool for 5-10 minutes, flip them and firmly pat the bottom of the pans they will not stick. Also pull the pans up very slowly and evenly. If one side starts to stick just carefully use a knife to loosen it. I recommend making the day before serving because the flavors blend nicely overnight. Thanks for the great recipe!

Avocado Feta Salsa

I used a jumbo avocado and thought it was the perfect amount. I used dry seasoning because that was all i had. I would not change a thing! I serve it with Wheat Thin Multigrain Toasted Chips. YUM!

Ginny's Cauliflower and Pea Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
This was awesome! I loved the dressing. I actually used light Miracle Whip in place of the Mayo. I added slightly more vinegar and mustard. I used real sugar. I used very little salt. Sunflower seeds and almonds add a great flavor and crunch to this recipe. I will make this again!

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Amazing! I added portabellos roasted with balsamic vinegar and seasoning. And also added capers to the mayo(i always use miracle whip light instead). The bread can be sliced in half easily instead of this being open faced.

Banana Nut Brownies

Amazing! Yum. This is what i changed: 2 T of milk, 1 1/2 t vanilla, 3 heaping T of cocoa, AND about 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Also used Jumbo eggs for more moisture. My bf and i could sit and eat the whole pan while they are warm.

Giant Spice Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2007
Not sure why this had gotten poor ratings. I loved the cookies. I mixed them by hand so they stayed nice and chewy. Maybe they got crisp for the others because they mixed them with a mixer and incororated too much air into them.? I did not flatten them slightly like the recipe said but i followed the rest of it exactly. Very easy nice cookie!! Update: Chewier and better flavor the next day. Thanks for the recipe! Mom and I love them!

Texas Caviar I

Very Good. Made with fat free zesty italian dressing. I do like the olive oil and sugar version of this recipe better but this is much healthier and only 2 WW points for 1/2 cup portion! (with no-fat dressing)

Easily one of the BEST breads i have ever had. Tastes just like if not better then the bread you buy at a bakery. I'm almost speechless. I am going to eat the whole loaf..in one sitting :) Doesn't get any better. Amazing texture, flavor, etc

Rhubarb Cake II

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
I used what i had on hand, so i replaced the yellow cake mix with white and used cran-rasp jello. i also cut the sugar in half and it was still super sweet. I will try it without the sugar next time. Great recipe! It is so simple!

Grandma's Slow Cooker Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
Just AWESOME! I made some changes based on what i had on hand. I used 2 cans of black beans. I pureed one of them with a little veg broth.(could not find black bean soup) I used great northern instead of garbonzo. I used the bigger can of baked beans. Skipped the parsley, oregano, and basil. Added more chili powder and added cumin. Perfect! Cooked several hours longer. WAY better the next day! WOW!

Great quick cookie. I suggest mix this by hand to make sure the cookies stay nice plump and chewy. I also did not flatten slightly like the recipe said. I will make again! Update: Even chewier and better flavor the next day!

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2006
this is a great bread. I disagree with other reviewers who said it did not have much of a sourdough taste. Remember your bread is only as good as your starter. I will make this many more times. It makes great toast and great for sandwiches as well. Oh I made it in two loaf pans.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
I thought these were really bad. I am a great baker and always get many compliments for that. Nobody really liked them. The taste was not horrible BUT I expected so much more considering they are called the best and all the great reviews it received. Huge dissapointment.
