Baked Oatmeal I

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2001
We tried this the first time and loved it. We have experimented by adding different spices and some fruits to make it a new taste adventure each time. Wonderful for our cold Wisconsin winter of 2000-2001.

Chilled Cantaloupe Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2001
This is a perfect soup to go with a cool summer lunch. Easy and simple. I struggled with the kid rating. My daughter loved it, but a friend was resistant to even try a cold soup made with fruit. Bon appetit!

Chicken Salad with Peaches and Walnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2001
We just bought a half bushel of fresh peaches, and scanned the recipe index for ideas. The weather here is very warm, and this recipe really hit the spot. For convenence, I used packaged, pre-cooked chicken from the deli case. A great summer picnic or potluck dish.

Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2001
I have made these often, and have shared the frustration of some of your reviewers. Some days the kisses just don't melt, even though they have been excellent before. Chocolate is a very temperamental ingredient. If they have ever been stored in the cold, a refrigerator, or frozen, you will have difficulty. These treats have funded many a school activity in the past, and now they are a popular treat at Maison Fran├žaise at UW-Madison. Of course only the red m&m's are used for the Badger fans.

Clark Gable Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2003
We love this recipe. I don't add sugar or cinnamon like some readers suggest, but I do add fruit - bananas, blueberries, peaches, anything. I add the fruit to the pancake after I have poured the batter on the griddle instead of stirring it into the batter. We don't feed leftovers to our dog, although she would probably like it if we did. We freeze them and enjoy them as microwave pancakes as a quick breakfast on a school morning.

Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
I made these for a fund raiser for breast cancer research. I used pink granulated sugar from cake decorating aisle and pink m&m's instead of baking chips. They were very good in my test batch before sending them off for the cooking in a jar bake sale.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
I have just made these for a party at work tomorrow. I modified the cream cheese as have some others, but added shredded crab along with a package of ranch dressing mix to ramp up the flavor. I like it, remains to be seen if others do. They are sooo cute.

Oyster Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I do like oysters and this recipe. I did not use the salt which is optinal anyway. This is another way for us to use oysters which taste so good at this time of year.
