Canned Apple Pie Filling

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I always get compliments when I serve the pie made from this recipe! I add a little less water because the first batch I made was just watery enough to make the crust a little mushy. This past time, I added 8 1/2 cups of water, and it was definitely better.

Apple Cake in a Jar

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
This recipe makes the best cake in a jar I've ever eaten! I absolutey love canning, so this was right up my alley! I leave the peels on for the added nutrition. It turns out delicious.

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I love this recipe because it's so versatile. Sometimes, I add herbs and form the dough into small baguettes. Another favorite variation of mine is to separate the dough into 3 balls, roll them into tubes of about 18 inches and braid them. With either variation, the bread needs to bake about 30 minutes. The braid is so great because everyone thinks I spent a long time on it, when it's actually very simple.

Mammaw's Waffles

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
These waffles are delicious! They're light and fluffy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. They also have a great yeast flavor. These are by far my kids' favorites.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2007
This soup is so delicious! I can even get my young children to eat it! I didn't use whipping cream. Instead, I used 2% milk to reduce the fat. It's still delicious. Also, I put it in freeze and can jars and froze it. It was just as delicious when it was thawed. Thank you for the awesome recipe!

Chicken Tortilla Soup III

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2005
I have made other versions of chicken tortilla soup from this website. This recipe is by far the best! Even my children ate it-which is a rare happening. My husband, who is Mexican-American liked it even better than the tortilla soup his mother makes.

Cranberry Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
This is a nice, easy recipe to make if you're in a hurry. I didn't use 3/4 cup of butter. Instead I used 1/2 cup of butter and then 1/4 cup of applesauce to cut out some of the fat. It turned out just as well.

My husband, who is Mexican-American, said this soup was delicious. He also said it's very much like the soup his mother makes. Wonderful! Thank you!
