Homemade Ginger Ale

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2009
This was SO GOOD! I love ginger, so next time I make it I'll probably add more like 3 tbsp of that, and cut down on the sugar to 3/4 cup, because I found it quite sweet. It turned out great, though, I'm so pleased!

Vegan Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
These are amazing - the best brownies I've ever had. Its terrible because I can't stop eating them, and I'm usually pretty good about that. The only changes I made to the recipe were 1) added 3/4 cup of applesauce and just 1/4 cup of the oil 2) used coffee instead of water. I also used the icing recipe from the "Zucchini Brownies" on this site. I'd definitely recommend this recipe to anyone - vegan or not!

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Sugar and Spice

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
These were AWESOME! I served them as an appetizer and they disappeared in a flash! I followed the recipe exactly, except I used 4 tbsp of sugar, which was plenty.

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2008
Delicious! I will definitely be making this again. Two things I will do differently: Mine was crispy after only 10 minutes. I think this is because I spread it too thin. So make sure you give it enough depth. Also, at the suggestion of some others, I put 2 tsp of salt in, but I really found that to be too much. Next time I'll use 1 tsp like the recipe says.

Brazilian Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
Great stew! I made it in the slow cooker, and it turned out great. I did use dried bean instead of canned, and I used vegetarian sausage, since I have vegetarian roommates, which was just fine. While it smelled amazing and tasted great, I did feel it was missing a little something, but couldn't quite put my finger on it (maybe it was the meat!)... I look forward to making it again and experimenting in the future!

This was a hit! Not quite as good as Renées, but good enough that I'll never buy it again!

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
WONDERFUL cake! I followed the recipe to a "T", except I substituted soy milk. It made a great, moist, double-layered round cake that was rich. Needless to say it didn't last long!

Cinnamon Raisin Bread I

I was a little skeptical of all the incredible reviews this recipe had, but they're all true! This bread is wonderful. I made two loaves with a half-recipe and they were gone within a few hours - they were SO good. I'll make it again for sure (the whole recipe this time!)

Though I know this is nothing that many haven't already said in other reviews, this bread is wonderful! I made a half recipe by hand and it turned out great, very flavourful and with a great texture. Its a keeper!

French Baguettes

These are wonderful baguettes. My only complaint is that the recipe is a little small - I might make double next time so they last more than a couple hours!
