Stir-Fry Pork with Ginger

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2006
I enjoyed this recipe, but I think it needed more ginger. I ommited the salt because soy sauce has enough salt as it is. I made this and put it with bok choy and snow peas as a stir fry and it came out pretty good. I cut it by at least half. Otherwise, not bad.

Potato Latkes I

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2005
Great recipe. I did what everyone else suggested and used only 1 egg per 2 cups (I made 8 cup's of potato's) and halved the salt and flour. I also put in more onion, since I didn't bother measuring. Also, when frying, I'd suggest frying it in about a half an inch of oil, since you don't want them to burn or anything. Other than that, it was a great recipe.

Oatmeal Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2007
Wow, this turned out good. It took a lot longer to bake than the recipe said (mine took about 50 minutes), but maybe that was because I didn't do the glaze on top with the broiler. I also forgot to add the cinnamon, and maybe that would've added a bit more zing to the flavor, but I still thought the recipe was great. Just what I needed, having very little ingredients in the house as I did.

I really enjoyed this recipe. It was simple enough and the orange wasn't over powering.

Gnocchi I

Reviewed: May 15, 2007
This tasted very good. The problem was it would become a dough that could be shaped. All we had was a sticky mass, which we pulled globs from and cooked that way. The taste was great though. We used over two cups of flour, but still no dough formed. Oh well.

Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
Very good. Since I am in college and was unable to use anything more than a spoon, the pumpkin mash came out a bit chunky, but it cooked right into the pie and tasted great. All my roommates loved it!

Baked Fried Eggplant

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
This was not bad. I mean, granted, it didn't crisp up as much as if it were fried in oil, but at least it wasn't nearly as fattening. The one thing that annoyed me was that the batter was so thick. When I put the eggplant into the breadcrumbs, it would just come off in globs of batter and I would have press the globs on the eggplant. Plus, it was very messy, with the batter being so thick. However, overall, this was a pretty good alternative to fried eggplant.

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2007
Very good. I put a bit of chili paste in it and that made it taste great. Also used corn starch like another review said and that made the sauce really stick to the beef.

Paprika Chicken with Mushrooms

Reviewed: May 7, 2006
I think that it needed more paprika, but it was still awesome. I liked the way the onions and mushroom's complimented the dish and though fattening, the butter sauce really gave the chicken flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Creamy Chocolate Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2007
I think the picture was a bit decieving, but overall, it was an excellent pie. I thought it would be more of a pudding pie, but when I made it I realized it was a mousse pie. Still, using a prebaked oreo crust, it was definitly an excellent chocolate mousse pie. Good job.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2007
Well, according to my mother, the texture is slightly different from what you get at the store, but it was actually a lot better this way. Very rich and flavorful, especially after taking the advice of other reviewers and doing the 1.5 cup coconut milk and 1.5 cup half&half as well as using 1/3 cup of cornstarch. If possible, definitly use cornstarch, it turns out much better. Great recipe, thanks!

Easy Fettucine Alfredo

Not bad. Hit the spot, though it did couagulate a bit from the cheese. I miss the real stuff, but for a quick, less fattening fix, this is it.

My boyfriend decided to make this for me in his crockpot. It was the first time I'd ever had chili and now I'm hooked. This was so good and I look forward to making it again and again. Thanks!
