Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: May 30, 2010
OH MY GOSH! This was sooo delicious!! After it was just baked and still hot we topped with whipped cream and had a side of vanilla frozen yogurt and it was soooo good! I DON'T like peaches but I loved this cobbler! Right out of the oven it was sweet and tasty. After sitting for a few hours my third helping was super sugary-I guess letting it sit for a while after sweetens it up even more. I prefer it straight out of the oven but still loved it when it was super sugary sweet as well. The only downside is that peach cobbler goes fast in a family of 5 and I need to double this recipe next time. Also the crust (which was super delicious) recipe needs to be doubled to cover the entire pie generously. I waited to put the cinnamon and sugar topping on until 10 minutes before it was done. I also doubled the cinnamon sugar topping so that it would be plenty to cover. Make this recipe-it's DELISH!!!!!!!!!

Stuffed Flounder

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
WOW! This recipe was absolutely delicious!! The only difference from actual recipe was that I used filets because that was what I had. I didn't top a filet with another I just topped the filet with the stuffing and baked. Even my kids who normally dislike fish, they don't even care for fish sticks, LOVED this! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!

Parmesan Spinach Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
These were OKAY but we thought they tasted like parmesan flavored hush puppies. I should have read the reviews and lessened the amount of bread crumbs added. Even so the flavor seemed to be lacking and if I make them again I'd have to doctor it a bit.

Spicy Chicken Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2008
Definitely need to double the recipe for a family of four. Was just enough to serve three with a little leftover, and our bowls weren't very big. Also it wasn't spicy, at all, so I added cayenne pepper to my bowl and it was delicious. Thanks for the recipe will make again.

Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2008
Wow, what a soup! I got tired of making the same soups over and over again and decided to try something new. My husband and I absolutely LOVED it! In fact we just ate it last night and he is asking for the leftovers for lunch (which makes this a winner). I followed the recipe to the t and it was delicious just as it is without any modifications. Try it you'll love it!

Country Breakfast Casserole

Delicious just as it is. I made this for my husband and he ate it up! He said he loved it and wants me to make it again. I have made another breakfast casserole recipe from this site and he said that this one was the better of the two. Thanks for the great recipe!

Apple Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2008
OH MY GOSH! These were SOOOOO good!! I'm afraid I may not have any left tomorrow! Everyone in the family, hubby kids and I, loved these! I followed the recipe exactly except I didn't have the square bake dish so I used a 9" pie pan instead, and it turned out fine. I will definitely make this again and again! Goes great with a scoop of ice cream as well!

Grilled Zucchini and Squash

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
These were really good! Did have to cook a little longer than 20 mins., more like 25 mins. but I know that times tend to vary. Will definitely make again! Oh, and you got to watch out for dripping butter when you take the foil off the grill.

Creamy Chicken Rice Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2008
This soup does taste really good. My only problem was that the soup was really thick and needed more liquid than stated. I added frozen peas & carrots to the pot along with the onions and celery. Also, I had leftover bone in chicken breasts which I shredded and added to the soup in the end to heat through. I skipped out on the lemon juice as hubby doesn't like it. I will definitely make this again as it is a great way to use up leftover chicken and frozen vegetables. Could also try this by substituting the rice with pasta.

Southern Grits Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
My husband is from the south and he loves grits. He usually only eats grits with a bit of cheese so I thought I'd surprise him by making this recipe for him. He absolutely loved it! I prepared all of the ingredients in the morning and let the casserole sit in the fridge until lunch time. My oven tends to cook things slightly faster and I found the casserole was good and brown in just 15 minutes. My husband gave this casserole his highest rating. This one is a keeper!

Grilled Garlic Artichokes

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2008
YUM! YUM! YUM! My family loved this recipe!! I didn't use lemon because my family doesn't enjoy it much but it still came out delicious! I used half butter and half oil (because I didn't have enough olive oil left for the recipe). I also basted the artichokes while grilling and they came out DELICIOUS!

Easy Paella

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
This was really good! My husband and I couldn't get enough of it! The kids enjoyed this dish as well. I followed the recipe exactly except I skipped the lemon zest (didn't have any) and used green instead of red bell pepper because that is what I had on hand. Would definitely make this again, perhaps experimenting more next time.

Campbell's Kitchen Easy Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
This pot pie is actually quite tasty! My family enjoys this recipe with the addition of cubed potatoes. To save on time I use frozen country style hash browns (small potato cubes) in the pot pie rather than fresh potatoes. The crust is definitely the best part of this pot pie, I usually make a double batch because my family enjoys a thicker crust. My kids especially love this recipe and I think it is a great way to use up leftover chicken meat from roasted chicken. You can always customize this pot pie by adding extra vegetables or throwing in some shredded cheese. The only seasoning you really need is a bit of fresh cracked pepper and a dash of salt. Thanks for the great recipe!

Bunch's Crab Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
This recipe is pretty good. I recommend adding double the eggs called for though. I feel that it needs a little something extra to make it even better though. Perhaps next time I will add a bit of shrimp in the mix as well. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe.

Charleston Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
My husband enjoyed this breakfast casserole. When I asked him what he thought he answered, "This is good." This usually means that he likes it but it needs a little something extra. I did let it sit overnight as another reviewer suggested. I think I will play around with this one some to try and personalize it. Thanks for sharing this delicious recipe!

Deluxe Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2008
The potatoes were good though not what I expected. They seemed to be missing something and weren't very flavorful. My kids struggled to finish their portions of potatoes because of the lack of flavor. However my husband and I thought that they were good enough to eat. Still I would add a little something extra to this next time to make it more flavorful. Perhaps some roasted garlic or a bit of cheddar mixed in would kick it up a notch. Still a great base to work with. Thanks for posting!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Wow! This chicken was delicious! I followed another reviewer's tip to place butter beneath the skin but otherwise stuck with the recipe. My family gobbled it up, it really was tender and juicy.
