Aunt Jewel's Chicken Dressing Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
This was a really good go-to recipe. I have a very picky family and my husband has to approve the list of ingredients before he will try anything new. I didn't change a thing and everybody liked it! This will make its way into my regular dinner cycle.

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
Perfect. In the south, mashed potatoes are a staple several times a week and they had better be done right, it's just expected. This yielded the results everybody loves.

Jenny's Grilled Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
Excellent! I don't give a lot of 5 star ratings, but this passed the in-law test! My mother in-law is a great southern cook. I have to come up with recipes that she doesn't cook so that I don't feel like my dish is being compared to hers. I followed this just as the recipe calls, and everyone raved about it. Trust me, in the south, we have hospitality and charm, but don't be deceived we say what's on our mind when it comes to food. From that day forward, when I have grilled chicken, this is how I do it. It's a hit every time!

Swiss Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
This recipe was good considering how simple it is and I love simple dishes. Passed the picky husband test and my live-in brother in-law asked me to make it again. I always season chicken with some rosemary. It seems to go really well with the swiss. We eat a lot of chicken and it's good to have something just a bit different and the swiss cheese adds just that.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
This recipe is really good. I had never made shepherd's pie before. I had never even eaten it. It's just not something that was served in my house. However, when my extremely picky husband put in a request for me to make one, I had to find a recipe that would work the first time! The next time, I will reduce the amount of onions because I kinda felt like they overpowered some of the better flavors. I also added a can of peas (I hate the flavor of frozen peas) and a can of sweet corn. Gotta sneak in as many veggies as possible without crossing the line where my husband will actually try it. It went over so well! This will go into my regular dinner rotation. Another plus, is that I can make this in the morning before I go to work and my husband will throw it in the oven when he gets off work.
