NO YOLKS® Beef Goulash

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2015
This recipe has potential with more seasoning and a bit more cooking to really get the meat tender. We added more paprika and used different No Yolk noodles since we couldn't find the kind the recipe suggested.

NO YOLKS® Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2015
Loved the ease of this recipe and really enjoyed the flavors. Noodles from No Yolks held up really well, even on reheating! A keeper.

Salt Roasted Shrimp with Saffron Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2014
The idea of using the salt bed to roast the shrimp on is a great idea in theory or for "show".. but the shrimp just soaked up the salt and the taste was over the top SALTY. The saffron wine sauce was spot on, we loved it, but next time, we'll either roast the shrimp as is without the "fancy salt bed" or grill them on skewers then use the saffron wine sauce to finish. The roasting salt bed idea would probably work better for whole fish or tenderloins where the mass can compete with the saturation of salt, but not for small meat items. The shrimp tasted like juicy salt licks by the time they were done roasting on the salt.

Slow Cooker Apples with Cinnamon and Brown Sugar

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
Super easy recipe & with the Reynold's liners, snap to clean up! Rocks with vanilla bean ice cream or by itself (I had to test both out ;) ) I added pecans to the crumble filling/topping for a bit more texture.. YUM! Will make this again for sure.

Slow Cooker Chicken Gumbo with Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2014
super easy recipe to make. We made a double batch (one to eat now & one to freeze & eat later).. For the frozen batch, we cooked the gumbo just 3 hours on high, left out the shrimp, put it into a gallon size freezer ziplock. When it was time to eat, I let it thaw over night in the fridge, poured gumbo into the slow cooker (used a liner this time too, so easy), cooked it on low for 3 hours, added thawed shrimp like recipe above, cook for another hour until shrimp was done, served with rice. YUM!

Tomato Basil Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2014
We liked the simplicity of this recipe, but did find it bland based on the original recipe. We added garlic powder and thyme to the breadcrumbs (we used panko crumbs). We also added garlic and rosemary seasoning blend to the tomato mixture along with coming half the diced onion with a bit of butter until cooked through, to cut down on the raw onion bite and let it marinate in the fridge. We also warmed the tomato mixture in a skillet before topping the finished chicken breasts. So good.

Grilled Masala Chicken with Vegetables

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
The hubs & I enjoyed this recipe for the simplicity and flavors. Paired well with brown rice and green salad. Next time we're going to add some red bell peppers. Clean was a snap for me too, another bonus!

White Peach Sorbet

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2013
Really liked the simplicity of this recipe. Will definitely make it again with 1 modification of using a simple syrup instead of sugar to sweeten sorbet to avoid any gritty texture. We used regular peaches as white were not available when I made this. Added a few leaves of mint to add additional flavor (next time use a mint simple syrup?). It was smooth, creamy and flavorful.

Baked Italian Chicken Breast with Brie

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2013
We loved this recipe and will make it again but with some additions like a few dashes of True Lemon crystals and Italian parsley for the rub portion to brighten it up with a tart flavor, and rough chopped scallions added to the other vegetables. Very easy to make and great with a simply dressed salad.

Coffee Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
We loved this recipe for all its simplicity, it was flavorful and rocked the next day as sandwiches! I used a really nice premium dark roast coffee, seasoned the chuck roast with salt/pepper prior to searing. I'm going to try this next time in the slow cooker as I'm not usually comfortable leaving the stove on for that long of time (toddler in the house!) and will try this in a dutch oven as well. Keeper!

Momma's Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2013
A decent recipe for when you want to clear out some space in your pantry and want to spruce up regular jar sauce. I made this in the slow cooker and it turned out pretty good. Husband & kids enjoyed it though I found the finished marinara a bit sweet even though I used a Roast Garlic jar sauce. Ultimately though, for a recipe that still has a 4-5 hour cooking time, I'll stick with my fresh tomato based sauce which also has 6 other vegetables in it (shhh don't tell the kids!)

Grands!® Biscuit Taco Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
Maybe these should be called "taco bowls".. the husband loved these though we both thought the size of the cups were kinda big (we used the bottom of a cupcake pan to make the cups) The boys found them awkward to eat because of their size, they didn't know if they should use a fork & knife or try to pick them up. In the end, they cut the bowl into pieces, but the overall effect was lost on them. Hubs liked them because it was an "all in one" meal with a side salad of cole slaw.

Jumbo Dark Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2013
Flavor was nice, but the dough, after adding everything was very dry and crumbly. It wouldn't stay together so I added a few tablespoons of whole milk to reconstitute. It worked and the kids liked them, but I won't be making them again.
