Margarita Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2006
This recipe needs some major rework. It is bland to a fault, I will definitely not be using as-is again. I used fresh caught coho salmon (what a waste!). Next time I will add pressed garlic, kosher salt and reduce the olive oil to 1/2 tsp. As it stands, the marinade does not permeate the fish at all!

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2006
This recipe rocks! As-is, no subsitutions of modifications required! Cut them small, because they are rich, moist, chewy- and will go FAST! I think that ALLY99 possibly ran into technical difficulties the first time around because these surely DO NOT require frosting!! :-)

Coconut Rum Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2005
A great variation for rum balls! I make a few changes to the listed recipe, however. I prefer to toast the coconut before I roll the balls in it- YUM! I also add about 1/8 cup more rum (coconut flavored), otherwise the coconut flavor completely masks the rum flavor.

Chocolate Rum Balls I

This is a great recipe that is sure to get rave reviews from any and all that try it. I use different types of rum (vanilla, coconut- whatever!), and always get requests for the recipe.

This is a great recipe! It is so simple and fast. The final product is better than store bought, and it looks great on holiday cookie platters!

Rockfish with Crab and Old Bay Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
The sauce for this recipe is absolutely to die for! It is creamy with just the right amount of seasoning. It would be a great compliment to any mild flavored fish. 5 stars all the way!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
I've used this recipe over the years and ALWAYS get rave reviews. It turns out creamy and delicious every time! I do have trouble with it cracking, however. Since my family insists that I cover the entire thing with cherries, the cracks don't really bother me!

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2005
This was a nice spin on traditional pecan pies, but I disagree with the reviewers that claimed that it was less sweet. I found the opposite to be true. I really liked it's unique flavor, but found that it didn't quite set-up as it should.

Mrs. Sigg's Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2005
This will be the 5th Thanksgiving that I have made this pie. Let me just say that it is FANTASTIC. Fresh pumpkin really makes this pie. I agree with other reviewers about adding extra spices, but it is great as-is also. I always use the "BAKERS SECRET PIE CRUST" recipe from this site. It comes out perfect everytime. Another variation is to use the struesel topping from the "Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie" recipe also on this site. The streusel is great with walnuts or my family's favorite- pecans. YUM! You won't be dissapointed!

This recipe is absolutely delicious and a snap to make! Don't let the directions scare you- the cake is moist and is easily removed from the pan. The final product is amazing. Everyone that tastes it asks for the recipe and there is never any leftovers!

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
Excellent chili! I improvised (of course) :-) But it was outstanding! I substituted 1 pound of spicy ground sausage for 1 pound of the ground beef. Also, I didn't have any pre-mixed chili seasoning on hand, so I pulled a reciped for a mix up on this site, and as I stated, the final product turned out WONDFERFULLY!

I cooked this in my slow cooker on low for 6 hours. It made the sausage so tender, and the sauce turned out excellent. So easy to make, and tasty to boot!

Irish Lamb Stew

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2003
First off, let me say that the only change that I made to this, was that I subsituted beer for the wine. No other changes were necessary. Wow, this is delicious! I made this for a St. Patrick's Day potluck at work. Well, not much of it made in for my co-workers. My skeptical family LOVED it. After a huge BBQ dinner, they decided that they wanted to "taste" it. 2 bowls (each) later, they were begging for more. I had to hide it in order for any of it to make it in to work! I recommend this to all! It defeinitely deserves a 5 star rating!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2002
I used Mrs. Sigg's pumpkin pie recipe, and added the struesel topping from this recipe. I substituted pecans for the walnuts, and it was a hit!!! Everyone loved it. We had a variety of pies, but everyone wanted this one! This will be a standard addition to my pumpkin pies from here on out. DELICIOUS!

French Toast Souffle

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2002
At first, I thought that I was going to be disappointed with the final product. However, after letting it "set" after removing it from the oven, it was great! I recieved several compliments from coworkers. YUM! Let it cool almost completely before enjoying this yummy souffle!
