Apple Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
I must admit that I tried this because of the submitter's comments. I am from Omaha, NE and my family and I just went to Kimmel Orchard yesterday (bring home both apples and apple cider with us). I know it's a silly reason to try a recipe, but man am I glad I did! This is awesome! I didn't have everything it calls for, so I deviated a little. I left out the carrots, added some minced garlic and used 1 tsp. garlic salt and 1/2 tsp. table salt. I also didn't have caraway seeds or bay leaf. Right before serving, I thickened the sauce with some cornstarch & water. Served with some crusty bread and a green salad. Perfect!

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

Yum!! I had something else in the crockpot, so I just simmered it on the stove for about four hours. Delicious.

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

Reviewed: May 2, 2010
This is soooo good!! I was only able to marinate the steaks for a couple of hours and they were so, so tender. I omitted the cayenne & used sea salt instead of table salt, but did everything else as the recipe states. Don't forget to score the meat- that's a big key for tenderness!

Best Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
This is AWESOME with the following changes: use only 1 Tbsp. of olive oil. use sea salt instead of table salt but do not change the amount, use the juice from 1/4 of a lime instead of the lemon juice & use chopped red onion instead of white or yellow.

Yum! I decided to make snickerdoodles today after my (obviously) deprived husband told me he had never had one. These are the best snickerdoodles I've ever had!

We loved this! I did use a little more garlic (1 Tbsp.) and didn't have bay leaves, but the result was delicious!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
This IS the best cupcake ever! I made it a whole lot easier (as some others did) by using break-and-bake cookie dough. I made it with chocolate fudge cake mix & piped on store-bought white buttercream icing. I sprinkled mini chocolate chips on top too. DeLiCiOuS!! Make sure the cookie dough is frozen...and don't overbake...only about 17 min or so.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This is awesome! I made the following changes: used 2 1/2-3 cups of broccoli, doubled the minced garlic to 2 tsp. and used 2 cups of Italian blend shredded cheese. I served it with freshly baked muffins and a variety of fresh fruit. Yum!

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
This was just "ok". I followed other reviewers suggestions and used more apples and made 1-1/2 times the crust. I even stirred some sugar and cinnamon in the apples. It just wasn't as sweet and flavorful as I'm used to...it was lacking something...maybe needs more spices?

Monster Cookies VI

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2007
These were pretty good overall, but I was a little disappointed. The first batch I put in the oven came out very flat and hard and were difficult to get off the cookie sheet. After that, I made some adjustments by decreasing baking time to 11 minutes (they look a little underdone when you take them out) and taking the advice of others by making them LARGE. Those cookies came out much better. I will make them again, but I think next time I will also decrease the amount of sugar as suggested by others.

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
Yum! Yum! Yum! We did make the following alterations: used garlic salt instead of salt, doubled the lemon juice, put in 2 cups of water and 2 chicken bouillon cubes, and used a pinch of dried parsley instead of the fresh. If you don't use more water, it will dry out...and you need to adjust the lemon juice and bouillon accordingly. We had it with Uncle Ben's brown and wild rice medley and green beans. I will definitely make this one many more times!!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
Delicious!!! I threw in a bouillon cube with the chicken and veggies...I also added two cloves of sliced garlic to this mixture. I didn't have celery seed, so I substituted with garlic powder. I brushed a little egg white on the top crust so it would brown nicely. I think next time I will make sure I have celery seed to add. It was awesome though...even on a 95 degree day...I can't wait to make it on a cold fall or winter night!

Really good salsa...better than what comes out of a jar for sure! I used an entire small can of chopped green chilies...the recipe wasn't spicy enough. I will make this again.

This is soooo good! I make this whenever I go to a party in the spring through fall. It's always a huge hit! However, I puree the fruit in food processor...it's a lot easier and better for dipping!
