Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
I love this bread! I have made it many times. I usually use 1/2 bread (or A/P) flour and 1/2 whole white wheat flour. I also usually add a touch of honey. I like that this can be made so quickly, but I've also made it earlier and let it rise a few times, and it was good like that too. I prefer baking this at 425 for 15 minutes, it gets nice & golden, but stays soft. My children really love this bread as well. Thanks for sharing!

Jim's Cheddar Onion Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
This bread is excellent. The texture is very nice, similar to that of a biscuit. I had some green onions on hand so decided to try those, it gave the bread great color & flavor. The onion flavor is very strong, which I like, but for those who don't love onion, I bet it would be great without as well. I also used A/P flour, since I was out of bread flour. I plan on making this many times, I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing!

Honey Wheat Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
These are really good. I made them by hand, and they were very easy. I used olive oil instead of butter. I also used 1/2 white kernel wheat flour, and 1/2 bread flour. They were very soft and had a great taste. Out of one recipe I got 4 hoagie rolls, 4 hamburger buns and a small loaf of bread. They were just as good the next day.

Apple and Brown Rice Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
This was ok. It had a nice flavor, but there was just something a little weird about it. Maybe I didn't like eating cold rice. It also makes a lot.

Delicious rolls. I replaced some of the flour with wheat flour, and they were soft and oh so yummy.

Thai-Style Peanut Sauce with Honey

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
This sauce is so delicious. I served it as a dipping sauce for asian lettuce wraps. It tasted sooo good! I used only crunchy peanut butter, and loved the texture of that. I also used water instead of the oil, and it was perfect! Thanks for such a great recipe.

Easy and Fun Peanut Butter Balls

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
Our whole family really likes these. We like them as is, without rolling them in anything, but sometimes I'll mix in chocolate chips. Also, I don't use as much honey as it calls for, I just add it until it's just sweet enough. An easy and yummy treat.

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: May 25, 2010
I love this bread. I have made it many times. I like it as written, but will sometimes increase the amount of wheat flour. I don't have an electric mixer, so I just make it by hand. I find that it's easier to knead in the bowl, just make sure you have a very large bowl, because this makes a large amount of dough & can be difficult to work with. This will make 6 small loaves, or 4 large ones using a 9 x 5 loaf pan. I usually just bake one loaf, then freeze the rest of the loaves after the first rise. They take awhile to rise, but they always turn out well. Also, don't store this in the refrigerator, it will dry out very quickly. I just put mine in a plastic bag & leave it out & it stays fresh for several days. Very delicious bread, thanks for the recipe!

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
We liked this, but I think it NEEDS vegetables for color, texture & nutrition. I added sugar snap peas and a red pepper. Those were both very good in it. I wouldn't make it without adding some vegetables to it.

Soft Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
These were ok, nothing too exciting. I halved the recipe and there was more than enough for my family of 4. I used a garlic butter on top and that gave them a good flavor. I think they would have been very bland without that.

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
I was very disappointed with this recipe! I used dried pinto beans that I cooked and felt like I ruined them by adding all that cumin & chili powder to them (not to mention the mustard & soy sauce!) all I could taste was the cumin, even after I mixed the sweet potatoes in to see if it would mellow out the cumin. These would be much better without the spices. Sorry these were just not good as is.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
I love how easy this is to throw together. It made a nice, thick soft crust. I added a few seasonings to the dough (basil, oregano & garlic) and brushed it with olive oil before putting the toppings on. I also let it rise for about a half hour, while I prepped the toppings. It tasted great and was so so easy to make!

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2010
This was so good, I didn't want to stop eating it! I made the following changes based on what I had: used crushed red pepper, ground ginger, no green onions & used spaghetti. I really wanted to add vegetables, since this was our main dish, but didn't like the thought of sauteed veggies. So I finely-chopped some fresh red pepper & carrots and mixed them in at the end. It added a lot of great color & texture. I loved the crunch of the carrots. I highly recommend adding raw chopped veggies. I also added a bunch of chopped cilantro, it was delicious!

Tex-Mex Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2010
What a yummy soup! We all loved it. I made a few changes: used homemade chicken stock, no tomato soup & half the amount of tomatoes. I also just put everything in the crock pot and it turned out great. For leftovers, I combined the filling (strained out the liquid) with scrambled eggs & made breakfast burritos. They were super good too. Thanks for a great recipe!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
This was so easy & fun to make. I used my favorite flavors of ice cream with an oreo crust. The crust was very good. I also made Chocolate Ganache (from this site) and used that in place of the fudge topping. I didn't add the whipped cream or cherries, it was perfect without them. I did make the scoops of ice cream on top and thought it looked great---thanks for the recipe!

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
This was good & so simple to make. I followed the advice of other reviewers and just heated the cream, then added it to the bowl of chocolate chips. I used it in place of fudge sauce for my ice cream cake. It froze really nicely on my cake. Thanks for the recipe!

Sweet Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2010
I loved this salad. The dressing is so delicious. I wanted to just eat it with a spoon! However, I think it tastes best before refrigeration as the onion flavor was much more pronounced after being in the refrigerator. It still tasted good, but the onion flavor was a little strong. I added dried cranberries for color and really liked that addition. Thanks for the recipe!

French Baguettes

I didn't really like this bread. It was easy enough, and it looked nice, but it was so bland. I ended up just using it in stuffing and it was good like that.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
I love this sauce! I didn't make the meatballs, because I have a recipe for turkey meatballs that I love, but the sauce is so delicious. I do recommend using only 1/2 a can of tomato paste and adding 1 can of tomato sauce. I think it tastes better that way. Thanks for the recipe!
