Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
These are the BEST brownies that I have ever made! I made them exactly as written, adding 1 cup of chocolate chips. They were just perfect, moist and gooey in the centre! I think that those who are getting a more cake like brownie are simply baking them for too long. I always start checking them quite a bit earlier then the suggested time just because every oven is different. And, the best way to tell if they are done is to stick a toothpick or knife in the centre and there should be fudgy crumbs stuck to it. You don't want it to come out clean because then you have over cooked it! Try this recipe it is the best!

Dutch Honey Syrup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
I just made this recipe this morning! And, it is to die for! It has a wonderful caramel flavor! We had it on French Toast! I halved the recipe and there was plenty leftover since it was just my husband and me. I love that this recipe is so easy to remember and so easy to make in smaller quantities. You could really scale this down as much as you want. This syrup probably wouldn't be good with something like crepes because then it would over-power the taste... but for something hearty like French Toast it is perfect. This would also be wonderful on ice cream as a caramel sauce. A great way to use up the leftovers!

Pink Cloud

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
My friend used to always bring this jello salad to our BBQ's but she always made it with orange jello and didn't add the fruit or nuts. My husband always looked forward to it. I think that I will be making this recipe with orange jello and mandarin oranges. Mmm mmm! I would also leave out the nuts because my husband doesn't like crunchy stuff in his jello...

Yummy Yam Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I was soo looking forward to this recipe... but unfortunately it was not quite what I was looking for. It just didn't seem to have as much flavor as I had hoped, which surprised me because of all the spices. But, maybe it just wasn't enough of the flavors that I was looking for. There was also too much butter on top for my taste. It definitely wasn't a bad recipe... just not suited to my tastes.

Garlic Butter Shrimp

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
This was excellent! My husband wanted me to make some garlic shrimp like they have at Red Lobster so I decided to give this recipe a try. We just estimated on the amounts and it turn out great! We also used garlic powder for a more concentrated taste. Delicious! My husband already wants another batch!

Easy Herb Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I have made this Turkey twice now and both times it has been delicious! I had to cook it without the water in the bottom since I only had a 9x13 pan to cook it in, therefore no rack. So, to try and seal in the juices I cooked it uncovered until lightly browned and then covered with tinfoil... then also took the tinfoil off for the last 45 min of cooking to brown it up some more. I think next time I might try as the other reviewers suggested and rub some of the herb mix under the skin to give it more flavor! But, over all a wonderful recipe!

Kelly's Butterscotch Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I made this exactly as written. It is absolutely delicious! For us though it would make more like 8 servings because it is so rich... but it was very quick and easy to make... thank you so much for the recipe!

Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
These were very good. I added 1 tsp. of baking soda because I couldn't remember how much ashley said to add.... I guess it was supposed to be 1/2 a tsp. oops! :) But, they turned out great! Other than that, the only thing I did differently was I only added 1 cup of choco chips. This was just perfect for me and my husband... they were nice and chocolaty... I cannot imagine putting the 2 full cups in... I would say just add one cup first and then if you think it needs more... add more... but I definitely wouldn't add the 2 cups all at once.

Chocolate Mocha Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2008
This cake is very good. Very moist and dense. It really doesn't have very much of a mocha flavor even though I doubled the amount of instant coffee. But, it does have a very rich dark flavor. I have other cake recipes that have more of a mocha flavor that I would prefer for a coffee flavored cake. But, I would use this one as a regular chocolate cake, leaving the coffee in it because I do think that it adds depth to it.

Amazingly Good Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
This is the best recipe for eggnog I have found. I will no longer be looking for other recipes... I used this last year and added rum flavoring instead of the light rum because I was pregnant... but this year I will add the real stuff... yum.. yum... I am already looking forward to it.

Saucy Herb Hamburgers

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
I thought these were pretty good... the barbeque sauce definitely just tasted like ketchup but that really wasn't very unexpected. I used crackers instead of the bread crumbs. For me the recipe wasn't anything spectacular but they weren't bad...

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
These are alright... I think they taste ok... but my husband thinks they taste like cardboard... but for my own personal taste I would rather use a regular roll recipe.

Cheesy Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2008
These were awesome! I added 3 green onions to the mix just because to me Quesadillas are not the same without green onions. Very quick recipe and delicious served with salsa and sour cream.

Broccoli and Cheddar Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
This is my new Broccoli Cheese Soup Recipe. My husband is a big fan of this kind of soup and he loved it. I did make some changes though because I did not have all the right ingredients. I used mozza instead of cheddar and I used 4 cups of water with 2 bouillon cubes instead of the chicken stock. I also cut the garlic powder down to 1 tsp. instead of 2... this was just perfect for us... I think the garlic taste would be overpowering with 2... and I only put half and onion in... since my hubby isn't such a big fan of onion. So yeah... just goes to show you can make do with what you have and things can still turn out great. :) Thanks for the delicious recipe!

Guacamole

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
This guacamole was really good. I just guessed on all of the amounts because I only had 2 avocados. You definitely need to let it sit for an hour... the flavors really blend better then. I tried it right after it was made and everything tasted a little too strong... but letting it sit really mellows it out and then it was perfect.

Soft Sandwich Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
These are truly delicious! You know a bun is good when it is delicious with just butter! Yum! Yum! I only had traditional yeast so I proofed it in 1/4 cup hot water for 10 minutes and only used a cup of warm milk instead... I also used all-purpose flour instead of the bread flour. I also just formed them into buns with my hands rather than roll them out. I will definitely continue to use this recipe.

Grill Dough

I love making individual pizza's on the grill with this dough... I have yet to try it as a garlic bread... but I think that would be very yummy and work well with this recipe!
