Ground Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
Very Tasty. I Added some sauteed green pepper and onion, omitted the sugar, It seemed like it needed some more flavor so I also added some garlic, red pepper, little sage, and some mixed allpurpose spice mix-really helped.

Una's Cheddar Beer Bread (bread machine dough cycle)

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
My husband and I ate the whole loaf before dinner was served. I halved the recipe for the bread machine and substituted: Butter for margarine, regular sharp cheddar-instead of low fat, half-and half instead of milk. We think the real ingredients rather than processed diet versions make for better flavor.

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2005
These bagels were fun and easy to make. So much better than grogery store bagels that taste like bread. Next time i will add a little gluten as someone suggested. Also be careful when shaping them because once you make a mistake they dont stretch back easily.

Potatoes were finished in 25 minites. Very Nice. We used an allpurpose Greek seasoning instead of the garlic salt.

I substituted chopped ham for the bacon. I let the ham, and onions simmer a while in the liquid from the beans with the bouillion. When the onions were cooked then I added the green beans.

Company Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
A Nice change from mashed potatoes. Made a few changes. Made half a recipie which made plenty with left overs. Used cream of onion soup (which campbells makes and I had never heard of ) Omitted dill, used a little red pepper instead, and mixed the cheese into recipie- baked uncovered 1 hour- turned out perfect.

Traditional Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
I didn't follow the recipie exactly, didn't have a couple of the spices and a few of the ingredients, so I winged it a bit, but it turned out very nice.

Crab and Swiss Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2005
After going through quite a few similar recipies and comments, the only complaint seemed to be that it needed some spice. So I just went ahead and added 1 tsp of OldBay seasoning, 1 tsp of onion powder, little garlic, 2 tsp salt, 2 shakes of tabasco. After 30 min, it was no way near done. My other quiche recipies cookfor about 50 min..so I let it cook more. I thought it was pretty good. My husband said he thought it was as good as it could be for "imitation crab".

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
We loved this recipe. So fast and easy. As far as some of the comments made about using less butter, I went ahead and used all the butter which I think was needed to make sure the shrimp was coated. There was a lot left over in the pan but that was o.k. We did add a light sprinkling of parmesan and old bay, which i think helped the butter cling to the shrimp. A little splash of white wine is also good in the mix.

I Like to make this in the crock pot because it really brings out the flavor. I steamed the rice seperately.

Ziti Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2005
This is a nice recipe, but unless you like bland food, be prepared to add a lot of spices. I added much more garlic, salt, and some other complimentary spices. Also before cooking I decided I wanted to make an "oven baked ziti" So after it was prepared, I placed it a baking pan, sprinkled the top with shredded cheese and parmesan and put it in a 350 degree oven for 30 min. I also cooked the chicken in olive oil, instead of frying. I will say that I tasted it before baking it and it was much more flavorful after baking it.

Cucumber Sandwiches III

I was in a hurry and spread cream cheese on BREMNER WAFER crackers, salt, cucumber slice, then dill. The cracker is the same size as a cucumber slice and tastes like bread.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2005
I went ahead and put a teaspoon of baking powder in as the last person suggested. We also used 1 cup of sugar instead of equal. The taste was o.k. but still a strange consistancy. Won't make again.
