Creamy Coleslaw

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2006
I used the prebagged slaw and just made the dressing part. I subbed out a couple packages of nutrasweet for the raisens, and a little onion powder, and some applecider vinegar, dash of celery powder, tasted great

Seafood Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2006
Unless I am intrepreting this recipe wrong, there is no way all those ingredients are going to fit in one pie! I made one pie by cutting the half and half to one cup. I used fresh cooked shrimp and 2 cups of shredded cheddar and some powdered onion and garlic. It baked one hour at 350. It was O.K.

I placed fresh sliced mushrooms and thinly sliced onions on top of boneless porkchops. Then instead of water and soup mix- i just added a few spices to a thick cream of mushroom soup and milk mixture to pour over top. Cooked for 45 min.(covered for 30, uncovered for 15)

We have been trying to eat less carbs, and this was a nice change from meat and veggies every night! We really enjoyed it. We used the ground chicken instead of beef.

Regular Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2006
I used half chicken broth and half water. I let the veggies cook 15 min then added raw chopped up chicken breats to make it's own broth. Let that cook about 20 min then tossed in the noodles for the last ten minutes. It was wonderful. Added some parsley and salt and pepper too.

Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2006
After reading all the reviews- I got so many ideas- I just went with them. I changed quite a few things and we were very pleased with the dish. Briefly; I sauteed onion, garlic, a vegetable broth cube, a splash of red wine, in with the mushrooms. I added a couple of tablespoons of sour cream in the stuffing mixture. I put a slice of asiago cheese over the rolled chicken breast, and topped it with a mixture of cream of mushroom soup and cream. Also added a few extra spices here and there. It is now in our "hall of fame" the tried and true regular recipes that we make all the time!

Authentic Mexican Breakfast Tacos

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
Nice change for breakfast!! Only changes I made was using flour tortillas because I thought the corn would compete with other flavors. And to scramble the eggs alone with out diluting them with milk.

Stuffed Shells III

there is a similar recipe on the box of shells that calls for 1/2 teasp of salt. So I used just 1 teasp instead of 2, it tasted just right. Great Meal.

Pizza Sauce II

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2006
I pretty much followed the suggestions of the last reviewer, Liza, and got a wonderful pizza!! I used "Jays Pizza Crust" from this webstite. My husband said it tasted like it came from our favorite "non chain" pizza, that we spend nearly 20 dollars on. Made at home, with many toppings for around 5 dollars.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2006
I have tried quite a few recipes for pizza crust in my bread machine....always dissapointed I gave up... When I took this one out of the machine and started working with it, I knew it was "different". It glided through my hands like silk. I used half a recipe and got a medium-thin crust 12 inch pizza. Great texture and taste! I like to prebake the crust for 3 minutes, then add the sauce and cheese and bake it for about 10 more minutes at 500 degrees. I've played with tempertures from 425-450-475. 500 gets the pizza more evenly cooked and keeps it from getting soggy.

Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
I was afraid I would mess this up because I have never made anything like this before. I took some ideas from other recipes and it turned out delicious. I added some scrambled egg, carrot, celery, mushrooms, and diced ham. Used Peanut oil, hot garlic sauce, a dash of ginger. We will be making this many times again, my husband ate all of it..no left overs! Thanks for the idea.

Turkey Tetrazzini Casserole

Luckily I sampled it before I put it into the oven. For our tastes it was too bland. I added a few tablespoons of "Chef Pauls magic salt free seasoning" It's a great all purpose blend to kick up the flavor-Made a big difference.
