About this Cook
I am a homeschooling mom of TWO, and married to the man God made for me! I love to entertain and cook for family and friends. When I was a child, I used to cook and bake constantly, everyone was always having to try my new foods. Constantly searching for exciting new recipes. I also love the Pioneer Woman (Ree Drummond)
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook with vegetables because they give foods such color. If I cook food, it has to be PRETTY! I love to try new spices and combinations of flavors. I battle with the every-day grind and try to manage a hot meal on the table every night :)
My cooking triumphs
I've begun baking a lot of cakes for any holiday. I especially love carving out birthday cakes -- and I only use homemade buttercream!
My cooking tragedies
I was probably 11 years old, I was baking homemade apple muffins if I remember correctly. I either was supposed to put in baking powder and put in baking soda, or visa versa, but it turned out terrible!! I was handing out the muffins to my family, and of course they ate them slowly.... Later I tasted one and found out how incredibly BITTER they were!! I was so embarassed and so apologetic. :)

Party Chicken Salad
Made it just as the recipe says. It's soooooooo delicious! A hit at my party. Now I eat itby the spoonful lol. Can't imagine deviating one bit. The curry is splendid and the green grapes turned out to be the perfect sweet contrast. Will definitely make again!

Easy Chocolate Chip Pound Cake
Man this cake is good. Used it for a car-shaped cake as well as the top of my son's first birthday car cake. The cake itself is not as dense and I would have liked -- was difficult to carve even when frozen. But the taste is phenomenal.

Whipping Cream Pound Cake
This was okay. It turned out dry for me, but great for carving. I sculpted the hills for my son's 1st birthday car cake. Probably would use this again, but may use an extra bit of something to make it more moist, without wanting to grab a glass of milk :-(. Hoping freezing it increases the moisture and it's a good leftover cake.
