"Hot cross buns! Hot cross buns! One ha'penny, two ha'penny, hot cross buns! If you have no daughters, give them to your sons. One ha'penny, two ha'penny, hot cross buns!" -- English nursery rhyme.
I have no daughter, so I gave them to my son. He loved his special Easter hot cross buns.
In his words, they were "like eating pillows." I'm sure he meant, "like eating sweet, warm pillows stuffed with currants and drizzled with a powdered sugar/orange juice icing."
My dear friend--I call her The Baking Queen--
suggested I use Hunza Bread II
as the recipe for these hot cross buns. So I did. And it worked. My friend is amazing, and so are these hot cross buns.
And to top it off, chanting the rhyme was just about as much fun as baking the rolls.
Happy baking to you, and Happy Easter
