About this Cook
After meeting the man of my dreams in Massachusetts; 700 miles away from home, we together, realized new dreams. In the kitchen we are more excited and more in love than any other place. A dinner at home always beats a restaurant meal, we choose the menu, the soundtrack, and the company. Our love of cooking together has blossomed into a dream of opening our own bed and breakfast as our semi-retirement home.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with fruit in it. I just love pies, and crisps, cobblers, and fruit flecked breads. Drin ( my husband) enjoys baking cookies and his famous crumby chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas we bake batch after batch of cookies to give to our friends, church, and co-workers. Many have admitted that our cookies are better than their mothers!
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph is discovering that my husband was also interested in culinary delights. Our marriage is stronger in part because of our kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
My biggest kitchen tragedy was watermelon daquiris. My best friend and I decided to have a little girl fun, and I didn't wait for the blender to stop spinning before I stuck the wooden spoon in....watermelon went everywhere, even on the ceiling.

Blueberry Lemon Loaf
This loaf is moist, tangy, and fresh tasting. The ingredient list is typical pantry fair, and the preparation is both quick and easy. The resulting loaf is both aesthetically pleasing and quite appetizing. The fact that this recipe uses a mere 1/2 a stick of butter is a definite plus. I will be making this over and over again, and enjoying it each and every time.

Apple Crisp III
My husband doesn't enjoy oats in his crisps, and so luckily I could turn to allrecipes, as usual, for some help. We both really enjoyed this recipe, although, when I make it again I will change a few things. As is, the recipe is worth 4 stars. I used macoun apples, which were perfect, but I used all white sugar, as listed in the recipe, and wish I had gone with previous reviewers suggestions and used half white and half brown sugar, just for that golden look if not for flavor. Also, I think I'll used apple cider or apple juice in place of the water next time. I will come back and revise this review when I make it again, and being apple season here in New England, that should be rather soon!

Dash's Donair
Not bad at all! Growing up in Halifax Nova Scotia, and being transplanted to Boston Mass in 2000 forced me to leave these sinful treasures behind....until now! They're not exact, but !!! They are close enough in a pinch! Sure beats Baked Beans!
