Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
Yum!! These were lovely. I might add a little more flour or cook them for a bit longer as they were not done enough after 10 -12 mins. They were so good though I will keep trying.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
These were a real hit. Will definitely make again. I had to add significantly more flour though. Only other change was that I added raisins to half the filling, in future I will put them in all.

Really like this very easy, didn't have some of the spices but it didn't seem to make any difference.

This was really good! Easy and tasty even my teenagers liked it. The only deviation I made was to add about a tsp of paprika just to give it a bit of oomph!

Sweet Potato Pound Cake

What a lovely cake. My daughter had to find recipe for school and this was one we choice for her to make, she got very good marks for it too! A lovely moist cake, the only change I made was to use self raising flour instead of plain. Will definitely make this again.

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2008
These were a great hit with my teenage daughters friends this halloween they were really taken by them, they tasted great too a bit like shortbread but lighter. Only adaptation was the addition of the green colouring and I used flaked almonds for the nails instead of whole ones. I can see these being a halloween favourite for many years to come!

Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Well this was a big hit. My oh so fussy children actually like these!! I did change it a bit from the recipe as given. I used fresh onion and garlic instead of powder and I used tomato puree instead of a can of tomatoes as my kids don't like things with a sauce. I then poached the stuffed peppers in the oven. Turned out well and I will definitely be making them again.

Whole Wheat Chapati

This recipe was very good. My whole family liked them (and that takes some doing!) Quick and easy to make, rolled out nicely. I served them with my own homemade korma curry. My youngest had three and she is a picky eater. Will definitely make again.

Bacon Water Chestnut Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
WOW! These are great everyone loves them they are definitely going to be made many more times. Superb. I have made these again since and find it better to make the sauce the night before and store it in the fridge so all the sugar dissolves and mixes well. My sister ate a whole batch of these on her own!!

Faye's Pulled Barbecue Pork

Reviewed: May 22, 2011
YUM!! This recipe has been on my list to try for a while now, I wish I had made it sooner, it was delish. Pretty much followed the recipe as was, only I don't have a dutch oven so just slow cooked it in a regular casserole dish. covered in a low oven. I used Nana's barbeque sauce recipe found on this site and it was a family hit instantly. Will definitely become a regular meal in our house!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
I made these for Christmas as my sister was coming and she loves brownies. She said they deserved 5*s, as she ate the whole thing I have to take her word for it. I followed advice from others about half white and brown sugar, I also added 2-3oz chopped walnuts and I left out the baking powder because my sister like it fudgy. Now she knows I have the recipe it looks like I will have to bake them alot more often!!!

Morning Glory Muffins II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2006
These were fantastic and I have never been overly fond of muffins before. I decided to try them in my kids lunch box and they loved them. The only changes I made were to substitute mixed dried fruit for the dates and reduce the sugar and use some honey instead. They come out great and I will definitely make them again.
