About this Cook
I have always enjoyed cooking. As a child I was the one who watched my Mom cook and wanted to help. I started baking first. Then as I got older, I tried different things. With 3 teenage/college-age children, I make a real effort to provide a healthy meal for my family every night of the week. Weekends allow a bit more time which then allows experimenting...I enjoy that!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making great food for my family and friends. Depending on the season, I love to grill and eat outdoors, but also enjoy the aroma of good food cooking when its cold outside. I believe I will try almost anything.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite time to cook is anytime I can spend in the kitchen with my family to enjoy the meal. Holidays are extremely special and I make a point to slow things down and include my kids on the work.
My cooking triumphs
Pulling off my mother's 60th birthday dinner for 35 guests single-handedly. I was determined that my mother would enjoy her day and all of her guests.
My cooking tragedies
Anything and everything I cooked as a newly-wed. I think back now and cringe at some of things I made and how they tasted! ;-)

Pasta With Tuna Sauce
Easy, healthy and quick for busy family. Followed another posters suggestion of adding broccoli for extra veggie serving... worked well. I used whole wheat Penne pasta and diced tomatoes. Followed recipe nearly exact with a little seasoning (fresh basil and ground pepper) to taste.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili
This was an excellent Chili that I made for last year's Super Bowl party. Because it does have a bit of bite, I toned it down a little for those who can't take it. *Changed the name too... Not a Purdue/Purdon't fan.
