About this Cook
I am 29 and live in upstate ny with my boyfriend. I love cooking and always try to make everything from scratch. I also make all of my own jam and jelly recipes. : )
My favorite things to cook
Anything from scratch, really. I particularly like to try and tackle things that are more challenging to make.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Jeez, this is pathetic, but I don't have any! No one in my family ever really cooked, so any traditions are being started by me. I have started a tradition of making dinner for my boyfriend's kids and friends every friday night. I let the kids decide what they want me to make. It's really fun. : )
My cooking triumphs
My triumphs would be anything that I make that I get kid approval on!
My cooking tragedies
Everytime I have tried to make cookies it's been a tragedy. I haven't tried in years, but I should soon..I suppose.. I mean, if I have to. : )

Pignoli Cookies I
These cookies are fantastic. I've always made this recipe exactly as is here. I've found that making everything in the food processor is the easiest way to go. Thanks so much for the recipe- it's always a hit!

Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
Made this for thanksgiving yesterday and it was fantastic! Best ever. I used french fried onions on top instead of the crackers and it was great! Thanks so much!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
This recipe was fantastic. I left out the onions because the kids don't like them, but they LOVED this meatloaf. I got a "hands down, best EVER". Even the picky 7 year old loved it. My boyfriend liked it a lot, but he prefers traditional meatloaf. I prepared as the recipe called for except for the onions and I drizzled some brown sugar and ketchup on the top. To serve, I sliced it and strained the liquid from the pan over it which made a delicious gravy. Thanks so much for this recipe! It's a keeper!
