Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2013
Yum, really good! I cut down the cayenne a bit (I was afraid after reading other reviews), but think it would be just dandy with it all! I added more veggies, just because I had them and feel like the spice/coconut milk ratios is really the important part! So I would say, make exactly as written or as your veggie tastes desire and you'll be pleased! Thanks for sharing :)

Apple, Cranberry, and Pear Crisp

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
For whatever reason, I LOVE this! I made this recipe and it was gone in less than 24 hours (yes, I played a key role in gobbling it all up), and made a second one the next night. There isn't anything super fancy about it, but sometimes it's the simple things that add up to something amazing. Have been craving a cobbler, and this is it! Personal favorite is using 3 pears and 1 apple with 1 tsp cinnamon added to the diced fruit. Give it a try, great alone, with ice cream and fresh whipped cream- mmmm!!

Vegetarian Kofta Kabobs

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2013
I wanted to love this recipe, I am a big fan of Middle Eastern meals..falafel, bean patties, etc...I found these to be rather bland which I was not expecting based on the spices and the texture was a bit 'mushy' in the middle even with extra cooking time. I wouldn't use the recipe again, at least not without tweaking it a lot or maybe doubling the spices. Served with tzatziki sauce and hummus, which ended up saving the dish in terms of flavor profile.

Baked Lentils with Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2012
I thought the final product was pretty good, easy ingredients and hearty meal. I adjusted the sage and thyme down while adding additional garlic powder (personal taste), likely should be made with brown/green lentils with the suggested baking time....I used french lentils and it baked for 4 hours with much additional water added. The house was nice and toasty with the oven on all evening :)

High Protein Peanut Butter Balls

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2012
Really liked this recipe! Used creamy peanut butter so added some chopped almonds to replace the texture missing from the chunky butter....the protein on hand was chocolate sprouted Sun Warrior (vs whey), and my bananas were not terribly ripe. Since I was chopping up a handful of almonds, decided to throw it all into the food processor...as the peanut butter went in I had second thoughts about the potential gooey mess I was about to make, but it turned into a cookie-dough texture easily and worked great! Had good balance of flavors (not sure if using just ripe bananas toned down the 'naner flavor as some folks found it overwhelming). Loved them as they were chilling and they are pretty yummy out of the freezer as well....will absolutely make frequently as they are great to have around as a go-to treat, snack, energy/protein boost. Can't go wrong! Thanks so much for sharing this recipe, it's one of those 'the sum is greater than the parts' without a doubt!

Ginger Sekanjabin

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
So delish! I love ginger and could easily drink this everyday as a yummy treat...so much better than anything that can be purchased in the stores. Can easily adjust the sweetness or ginger strength based on personal preference. I highly recommend you give it a try and share it with someone, yummy- pass it on!

Fettuccine Alfredo IV

Reviewed: May 4, 2012
I thought the taste was okay, although my plate was the only one without left overs. More like creamy butter noodles than alfredo, will not make again.

Dreamy Orange Cupcakes

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
While I like the idea of the cupcake flavors, the result is far too processed-tasting. Perhaps taking the idea and converting to ingredients that are less chemical/pre-made will be the next step.

Cabbage Patch Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2012
This is good, made as directed with a heavy hand measuring the picante as well as cumin. Tasted like Mexican cabbage soup, which was good, just not anything we went too crazy for. Good way to use cabbage up, simple ingredients, would make again for the above mentioned reasons but not likely something we will have a craving for.

Mocha Coffee

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2012
Very good base recipe! I think it is fine to 'fluctuate' with the ingredient amounts used (some folks prefer their coffee stronger/creamier/sweeter), and still give 5 stars. My taste buds are pleased with 2 cups reallly strong coffee, 1/3 cup warm milk, 2 tsp cocoa powder and 1 TB sugar...what a delight from my own pantry, everything on hand. Thanks for sharing!

Double Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies (Gluten-free)

Reviewed: May 25, 2011
This was okay and many got eaten, however the texture was very oily resulting in a delicate floppy cookie. I will make them again and work out the kinks, love the idea behind the recipe.....just not great or presentable as it.

Cafeteria Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2010
Texture was pretty bad....clumpy and gritty. Also found the mustard flavor to be a bit strong. This was to be the "main attraction" for dinner, so the meal was a huge let down.

Cookies 'n' Creme Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
Love the idea of using white chocolate, but this is just overpoweringly sweet making it hard to actually taste anything other than sugar. Super disappointed

Kitty Kat Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2009
I reduced the white sugar to half cup, used club-house type crackers, and used 2 cups milk chocolate chips (no butterscotch) with peanut butter for the topping. I give them four starts because I have quite a sweet tooth and enjoy the sweet treat, but my other half only ate half a bar and said they were way too sweet....needless to say they are lasting a long time with just me eating them, but I have been happily nibbling on them for days and they are still crunchy!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
This was great! Had crushed tomatoes on hand that replaced the juice, but have no doubt that almost any tomato base would give an awesome result. The quantities and spices are just wonderful, I have tried a variety of chili recipes from allrecipes that were okay, but all seemed to be missing something....my searching has ended and this will be my go-to recipe, everybody just loved it and we gladly gobbled up all the leftovers :)

I followed the recipe as written and greased mixer with shortening as recommended by many reviews. It simply did not work for me, will not try this again.

Ninety Minute Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Followed recipe as written, majority of the cinnamon filling ran out/over flowed while in the oven resulting in rather dry and bland little cinnamon buns. I may try and make them again to see if I was off, as they seem to have gotten great reviews from many others....

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
Very good...used only 2 cups white and 2 cups brown sugar, baked mini muffins (12 mins) and regular muffins (24 mins), sprinkled with powdered sugar and they turned out great. I may slightly increase the amount of pumpkin increase the pumpkin flavor and moisture/density of the bread next time.
