About this Cook
I have three beautiful children, twin boys and a daughter, and a hardworking husband who I like to cook for. I love being a mom its the best job ever. I also love having friends and family over for dinner or pot lucks.
My favorite things to cook
Changes with the seasons. During summer I like to make easy dishes without the oven. During the fall and winter I always have the urge to bake or make hearty dishes!! My favorite foods are mexican, asian, and then itailian, but it really depends on my mood. I'm very visual so I'll come on here and see all these delicious foods and want to make every thing I see. That is when I just pick one based on what I have on hand and ease.
My favorite family cooking traditions
At christmas we always went up to my Grandma's house and we would eat hot sub sandwiches, shrimp with home-made cocktail sauce, and crab legs.
My cooking triumphs
Making sesame chicken that tastes just like our local restaurant!! Pleasing my family and friends! Its always nice to get a compliment on your cooking.
My cooking tragedies
Nothing specific...though I have had a lot of slight blunders. Like adding the peanut butter too soon for scotheroos and instead of being chewy they came out quite crispy. Little things like that but thats whats nice about cooking there is always room for improvement. Sometimes I want to make a recipe just to improve my ability to cook because its one thing I always have wanted to be good at.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style
Made this last night and it was delicious my husband loved it and so did the kids. I also added extra veggies (carrots, onions, and diced zuccini) to the dish and used brown rice instead of white, which was leftover from the night before! Oh and added cooked pork too. Didn't use a wok and it still turned out great!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars
Made these for a baby shower but didn't double the crust as I was low on powdered sugar. Will definately do that next time as there was only a thin layer of crust. I also softened the butter a little too much and the crust turned to mush, which caused it to stick to the pan when I cut the bars.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak
Lightly coated the steak with the flour mixture and I put it right into the crock pot without browning. Still turned out great. Very tender. My boys are meat eatters and they ate most of it by the time I got home from a baby shower. Next time I'm going to try the mushroom version.
