Grecian Green Beans in Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
This is a great recipe! I added a clove of garlic and a little cayenne pepper and used fresh parsley from the garden. This went great with our grilled chicken.

Tomato and Bacon Pasta Bake

Great recipe. I used fusilli as that is what I had in and added a clove of garlic, some herbs and roasted peppers and zucchini. Turned out great.

Grilled Lamb Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
These were good but I made a few changes. I added Italian seasoning instead of all the separate herbs. I added mint sauce instead of fresh mint and served on wholemeal rolls with garlic mayo. Really tasty and very moist.

Sirloin Steak Dianne

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
I swopped the red for white wine, as that's what I had in, and omitted the dyjon mustard as I am not a fan. Unfortunately this left it a little bland. I will experiment with some different ingredients but will definately be making this again.

Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
This is really, really good :) I added lots and lots of mushroom and half an onion. We served it with spicy chicken pieces and couldn't think of a better combination. Thanks for this recipe, I made a large batch the second time and added a couple of portions to the freezer, can't wait to have it again!

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
Great recipe! I added more garlic and heated it in a pan with the olive oil. I also steamed my fresh green beans before quick frying them in the garlic and oil. Tasted delicious and went really well with the Filet Steaks and grilled mushrooms.

Lemon Thyme Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
This is a great recipe but i wanted a thicker consistency so I added a little cream to the sauce which made it perfect. I also substituted rosemary for the thyme and was very happy with the result.

Scotch Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
I've been eating these since I was a little girl and them are wonderful, though incredibly bad for you if fried. I've been looking for a great baked recipe and here it is. I added a little pepper to the pork which gave it an added kick. Great recipe, thanks!

Roasted Veggies with Couscous

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
I have been making this for years and it is an excellant side dish for meat and fish. I omit the balsamic vinegar and add a clove of garlic to the veggies and season to taste. I often add many of the leftover veggies from the fridge as the dish can be quite versatile. Enjoy!

Best Scrambled Eggs Ever!

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
This is how I always make my scrambled eggs! I add a little butter to the pan and add just a pinch of salt and pepper, then are simple and great to eat with potato cakes/farls on a Sunday morning.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2008
Amazing basic recipe. After reading some of the other reviews (150+) I made a couple of additions. I seasoned and floured the meat and sealed on all sides then added baby carrots and sliced onions. I replaced the water for beef stock and one cup of red wine. I added sliced portobello mushrooms and leeks about three hours before the end. I had to thicken the sauce a little on the stove top but that was to be expected. I got complements all round, thank you for a great recipe.

I love this recipe and make it all the time. I have started adding a little passata to the chicken broth which gives it a great flavour and colour.

Calamari

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
Good recipe, definately needs the garlic addition though. I accidentally added too much pepper to the first batch and they were terrible so watch out for your measurements. The next batch had the right amount and were delicious.

Grandma's Potpie

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2007
This is really good. I put in fresh veggies instead of frozen, personal choice, and I used a frozen pastry mix, as I didn't have time to make one from scratch. I served this for four and there weren't any leftovers.

Algerian Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
I don't know what I did wrong but cooking the spices in oil didn't work for me, everything just burned even though I have the burner on the lowest setting. I started again and used a cup of the cooking liquid and threw all the ingredients in that until it began a soft boil then threw the carrots in. It's very tasty and even my picky 2 year old went back for seconds. Will make it this way from now on as it was so easy. I served this as an accompaniment to cilantro chicken and pilau rice.

Shrimp, Sausage, and Fish Jambalaya

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2014
This was wonderful straight from the pan but the leftovers the next day were amazing. I used chorizo as that is what I had in and threw in cubed white fish, squid, prawns and muscles 10 minutes before the end of cooking. Cannot recommend this recipe enough, many thanks.
