About this Cook
First off, I love food! I love to try new recipes. I enjoy cooking when the dish turns out great. I enjoy sharing my food with others, especially when it gets rave reviews. That makes it totally worth all the time and effort.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, easy dinner recipes, and soups
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays are my favorite and I like to buy cookie cutters and decorative sprinkles for each holiday. I like my desserts to be festive!
My cooking triumphs
My delicious muffins are no longer sticking and falling apart when I try to remove them from the muffin pan. Why is that, you may ask... I have discovered Crisco non-stick spray. It works so much better than the shortening in the little can! Now, my muffins actually look as wonderful as they taste!
My cooking tragedies
Other than minor mistakes, I've been pretty lucky. I read directions about 3 times before and during cooking so I'm pretty safe as long as the instructions are correct!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie
This was amazing!!! Sooo easy to make and tasted so good. House smelled wonderful while baking. Per recommendations, I reduced the amount of butter to 1/4c and baked for an additional 15 minutes. Came out perfect & everyone loved it! Made 2 batches for a mexican fiesta party & got wonderful compliments! Thanks!

Peanut Butter Easter Eggs
I doubled this recipe and got about 36 eggs. I used a deviled egg tray to get the shape and freeze before coating with chocolate. Excellent recipe!

Pumpkin Turkey Chili
Great soup! I wasn't too sure about the pumpkin in the soup, but it was great! Per reviews, I increased spices and used 2 cans of diced tomato (w/ green chilies) and 3 cans of water. Without the extra tomato and water, it is not soup consistency at all. It was way too thick. I piled on the spices too, using extra chili powder & garlic, added cumin, turmeric, ginger, bay leaves, cilantro, and a splash of OJ. With the changes it was a 5 star recipe. Would have been a rather bland mush otherwise. Great base recipe to alter however you want!
