I'm a 33 year old stay at home mom of 2 boys, 2 girls and one on the way. I both love and hate to be in the kitchen so I like simple cooking and complex cooking. I love to entertain with dinners. I'm a fan of doing things myself from hunting, fishing, gardening and raising my own animals so that I can affordably provide a variety of items for my ever growing family. :) I like making my own cheeses, soaps, breads and breakfast meats because I like the independence that comes from not having to run to the store everytime I need/want something.
My favorite things to cook
I don't think there's anything that falls into the category of "Things I Don't Like to Cook." I love cooking new things, coming up with new ideas/blends and, of course, sticking with the tried and true recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A favorite cooking tradition, if you want to call it that, is a handing down of an extremely simple peanut butter cookie recipe to the kids of the family. They feel like they're really accomplishing something and it gives them a sense of pride to have something they made be raved over.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts
Not a bad doughnut. Very close to the "real" thing. :) Kids loved them of course but they didn't quite match up with the flavor I was looking for...

Remarkable Rib-Eyes
These steaks turn out great and very tender. My husband is VERY picky about his steaks and can't stand fat on his meat at all, yet with these, he cleared every bit of steak from his plate and wanted more! (A huge feat!) Personally I found them a touch salty from the soy sauce but I'm weird that way anyway and there's always A-1, lol! Thank you for this recipe!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
I found this recipe a couple of years ago along with a couple of others and this one has become the only one I use. It is very simple and versitile for my large family!!
